Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel GT3

318 mm rubber-grip GT3 rim with a cluster bracket on the ClubSport Universal Hub V2

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel GT3 bundles the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT3 with the ClubSport Universal Hub V2. Fanatec created the rim to offer the shape of the GT3 Endurance rim without needing the Podium Button Module Endurance, giving the Universal Hub's button clusters a GT3-style home.

Rim. The 318 mm rim is CNC-machined from black anodized aluminum with overmolded rubber grips (50 Shore A) similar to the Podium BMW M4 GT3. A reinforcement bracket sits between hub and rim to mount the button clusters rigidly in ergonomic positions, and the FunkySwitch can go on the left or right. Weight including bracket: 700 g. Ten printable sticker sheets and a squeegee are included for custom faceplates.

ClubSport Universal Hub V2. Preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC cage, neodymium magnets), 16 integrated hub buttons, four 3-button clusters, a 7-way FunkySwitch, Tuning Menu button and a three-digit LED display. The hub is firmware-updatable, accepts 6 x 70 mm and 3 x 50 mm bolt-pattern rims and has DataPort-C for the Podium Button Module Endurance. Note: the Podium Advanced Paddle Module cannot be used while the cluster bracket is installed. QR2 Wheel-Side included, packaged separately.

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD, Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. Works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. Not compatible with Xbox; Fanatec sells a ClubSport GT3 for Xbox.

Driving style

The ClubSport GT3 is a 318 mm GT3-style rim with overmoulded 50 Shore A rubber grips, CNC-machined black anodised aluminium and a set of blank sticker sheets so you can lay out the buttons like a real GT3 cockpit. It is the closest thing to a customer-racing wheel short of the Podium line: LED display unit, FunkySwitch, 16 hub buttons and crisp magnetic paddles for Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing and GT Challenge events. Best for GT3 and GT racing; less suited for rally, drifting and formula cars that expect different rim shapes.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The 318 mm rim is CNC-machined, black anodised aluminium with overmoulded rubber grips at 50 Shore A, weighing 700 g with its bracket, and it includes blank sticker sheets for custom button graphics. It mounts to the aluminium ClubSport Universal Hub V2, firmware-updatable and compatible with third-party bolt-pattern rims, carrying a magnetic paddle module with a CNC-machined aluminium cage and 3 mm anodised plates. Metal dominates the structure; the removable button clusters, FunkySwitch and display housing are polymer.

Software

The GT3 has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also updates the base and the firmware-updatable hub. On console, compatibility follows the base: pair it with a PlayStation-licensed base for PS4 and PS5 button layouts, while PC works with any Fanatec base; it is not Xbox-licensed, so Xbox requires one of the Xbox wheels instead. The LED display unit shows telemetry such as gear and speed in supported games. FanaLab programs LED behaviour, and SimHub can drive displays with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheel bases and consoles does the ClubSport Steering Wheel GT3 work with?

It needs a Fanatec wheel base. Fanatec lists Podium DD, Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. It works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. It is not Xbox compatible; Fanatec sells a ClubSport GT3 for Xbox with the Xbox-licensed hub.

Can I add clutch paddles?

Not with the bracket fitted. Fanatec notes the Podium Advanced Paddle Module cannot be used on a ClubSport Universal Hub when the button cluster bracket is installed, because the cluster cables interfere with the paddles. The included ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module offers shifting only.

How do the rim and shifters feel?

The 318 mm rim uses 50 Shore A overmolded rubber grips similar to the Podium BMW M4 GT3, and Traxion describes it as ideally sized for virtual sportscar driving. The ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module has 3 mm aluminum plates and neodymium magnets; reviews of the Universal Hub V2 describe a short, consistent, positive click.

What is the difference between the ClubSport GT3 and GT3 Endurance rims?

Fanatec says both share the same 318 mm diameter and rubber grip shape, so the feel is fundamentally the same. The GT3 Endurance has a full front plate built around the Podium Button Module Endurance; the GT3 uses a reinforcement bracket to place the Universal Hub's button clusters and can also run without clusters on a Podium Hub.

Is the bundle good value?

Fanatec US lists it at $469.99 (regular $529.97), while the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 + QR2 alone sells for $369.99. Traxion reported the rim alone at 99.95 EUR and noted that adding a hub and QR2 brings a complete setup close to 400 EUR, so the bundle mainly makes sense if you do not already own a Universal Hub.

Are the rubber grips easier to look after than suede?

The rim uses overmolded rubber grips rather than suede or Alcantara, and Fanatec carries no gloves recommendation for it, unlike its suede rims. Fanatec's general advice is to clean rims with a microfiber cloth and lukewarm water and avoid chemical cleaners; GTPlanet users also advise keeping cleaning fluid off rubberized parts.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

How do I adjust force feedback and customize the faceplate?

Press the Tuning button and use the FunkySwitch to change force feedback and other settings on the three-digit display without leaving the game. The hub is firmware-updatable through the Fanatec driver on PC. Fanatec provides a sticker template and sample graphics for the 10 printable sticker sheets.
