Fanatec Podium Button Module Endurance

GT3 endurance button module with 2.7" OLED, RGB RevLEDs and ITM telemetry for Podium and ClubSport Universal Hubs

Description

The Fanatec Podium Button Module Endurance is a full-scale replica of a GT3-class endurance button module. It mounts between a Fanatec hub (Podium Hub or ClubSport Universal Hub) and a 6x70 mm wheel rim, turning the hub into a complete GT3-style steering wheel.

Build. Real carbon fiber front plate with internal metal reinforcements and a rubber-coated, glass fiber-reinforced backplate. It weighs 410 g and adds 11 mm between hub and rim.

Inputs. 10 buttons, two 2-way toggle switches, two 12-position switches that can work as endless rotary encoders, a 7-way FunkySwitch and a 2-axis analog joystick. Button caps are detachable and compatible with other Fanatec caps (Xbox, PS4, Racing Style).

Display and LEDs. A 2.7" 256x64 OLED supports Fanatec's Intelligent Telemetry Mode (ITM) with five switchable layouts, the Tuning Menu and clutch bite point indication (with the Podium Advanced Paddle Module). It is surrounded by nine RGB RevLEDs and two groups of three RGB FlagLEDs, configurable in FanaLab.

Compatibility. Hubs: Podium Hub, ClubSport Universal Hub V2, V2 for Xbox and for Xbox One (adapter included). Rims: Podium R911/R911S and R300 (tight clearance), ClubSport 320 and 320 Alcantara; the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT and similar rims are not compatible. Bases: Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, ClubSport V2.5, CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, CSL Elite+ and CSL Elite V1.1. PC; PlayStation with a licensed base; Xbox with an Xbox-licensed ClubSport Universal Hub.

Driving style

The Podium Button Module Endurance is designed for long GT3 and endurance races, where you need to change traction control, ABS, brake bias, engine maps and pit functions without taking your hands off the rim. Its two 12-position switches, toggles, FunkySwitch, analog stick and 10 buttons cover these controls in Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and rFactor 2, and the 2.7-inch OLED with Intelligent Telemetry Mode can show several data points at once during a stint. Fanatec's own comparison positions it for long-distance racing, prioritizing comfort and accessibility, while the Rally module targets fast stage inputs.

Best for GT3 and endurance drivers building a Porsche-style or round-rim wheel on a Podium Hub or ClubSport Universal Hub; less suited for rally and formula drivers, or for anyone who wants a ready-made wheel without buying a hub and a compatible rim.

Build quality

Premium build

The front plate is real carbon fiber with internal metal reinforcements, and the electronics sit in a rubber-coated, glass fiber-reinforced backplate. At 410 g it is light for its size, the button caps are detachable, and the connection uses Fanatec's reversible DataPort-C. Some owners on Fanatec's forum report that the display and buttons stop responding until the module is reconnected or reflashed.

Software

The module is configured through the Fanatec App for Windows, which also updates its firmware together with the hub and base. FanaLab sets the RevLED and FlagLED behavior, and games with Intelligent Telemetry Mode support can switch between five OLED layouts automatically; other games run the display in Legacy Mode. The Tuning Menu is available directly on the OLED.

On PlayStation it works with a PlayStation-licensed Fanatec base, and on Xbox it needs an Xbox-licensed ClubSport Universal Hub; Fanatec notes that console functionality can be limited by the game and console. On PC, SimHub can drive the LEDs and dashboards in supported titles.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a hub to use the Podium Button Module Endurance?

Yes. It does not connect to a wheel base on its own: it mounts between a Fanatec hub and the rim and connects via DataPort-C. Supported hubs are the Podium Hub, ClubSport Universal Hub V2, ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox and the older ClubSport Universal Hub for Xbox One (with the included adapter).

Which wheel rims fit the Podium Button Module Endurance?

Fanatec lists the Podium Wheel Rim Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Suede and Leather), the Podium R300 and the ClubSport Wheel Rim 320 and 320 Alcantara. The R300 has tight clearance because of its smaller diameter, and the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT and similar rims do not fit because the spokes sit too close to the buttons. Third-party rims need a 6x70 mm pattern; Fanatec provides a sizing template.

What is the difference between the Podium Button Module Endurance and the Rally module?

The Endurance module sits between hub and rim, weighs 410 g and has a large 2.7-inch OLED with Intelligent Telemetry Mode, RevLEDs, encoders and an analog stick for long GT races. The Rally module mounts in front of the rim, weighs 280 g and focuses on backlit buttons, two D-pads and three 12-way switches with a 1-inch OLED. Fanatec frames Endurance for comfort over long stints and Rally for quick inputs on stages.

What can the 2.7-inch OLED display show?

In games that support Fanatec's Intelligent Telemetry Mode it can show several telemetry values at once and switch between five layouts, manually or triggered by the game. Other games run it in Legacy Mode. It also gives on-wheel access to the Tuning Menu and, with the Podium Advanced Paddle Module, shows the clutch bite point.

Are there known problems with the Podium Button Module Endurance?

Some owners on Fanatec's forum report that the display and buttons stop responding after a while, while paddles and steering keep working, or that the module is not recognized for firmware updates. Reported fixes include reconnecting the module, updating firmware with the latest Fanatec drivers, or contacting support.

Does the Podium Button Module Endurance work on Xbox and PlayStation?

Yes, with conditions. On PlayStation it needs a PlayStation-licensed Fanatec base, and on Xbox it needs an Xbox-licensed ClubSport Universal Hub. Fanatec notes that console functionality can be limited by the console and by game support, so telemetry and some inputs may not work in every title.

How much does the Podium Button Module Endurance cost with everything needed?

The module costs $249.99 on Fanatec US (€219.95 in the EU), but it also needs a Fanatec hub and a compatible rim. Fanatec offers it as a certified refurbished item in some regions, which can lower the cost.

How does Fanatec support handle problems with the module?

Claims go through Fanatec's help center. In one forum report of intermittent disconnects, support first pointed to game settings and drivers, then repaired the unit, which came back reflashed with firmware; the user said the problem persisted and requested a refund. Experiences vary, so it helps to document your hub, base and firmware versions.
