Fanatec Podium Hub

Premium gold-anodized aluminum core for Fanatec's modular wheel system, with QR2 Wheel-Side

Description

The Fanatec Podium Hub is the premium core of the Fanatec modular steering wheel system.

Aluminum monocoque. A space-frame design surrounds the electronics, and the central hub is machined from a single piece of gold anodized aluminum for strength with low weight.

Electronics. A dedicated ARM processor gives low latency and firmware updates, supporting 10 buttons and dual 16-bit analog inputs. Extra buttons, axes and displays connect via DataPort-C.

Modular. Connectors for the Podium Advanced Paddle Module (4 buttons + 2 analog axes), two button clusters (2 x 3 buttons) and DataPort-C accessories such as the Podium Button Module Endurance or Rally. Also supports the ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module.

Rims. Accepts all Fanatec rims and third-party rims with 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm patterns, and third-party steering wheels with their own coiled USB cable to the PC. QR2 Wheel-Side preinstalled.

Platforms. Windows PC; PlayStation functionality can be limited; not compatible with Xbox. Without a button module, the Tuning Menu is accessed via the Fanatec software on PC (not possible on ClubSport V2 and CSL Elite V1/V1.1 bases).

Driving style

The Podium Hub is for drivers building a high-end modular Fanatec wheel, typically a formula, GT or rally wheel with the Podium Advanced Paddle Module's analog clutch paddles and a Podium Button Module Endurance or Rally, or for mounting a premium third-party wheel on a Fanatec base. SimRacingCockpit.gg found it solves force feedback detection for third-party wheels but calls it feature-thin on its own and prefers the ClubSport Universal Hub for GT builds, while Boosted Media notes it adds noticeably more depth than the slimmer Fanatec Wheel Hub. Best for drivers investing in Podium modules on PC or PlayStation, less suited for anyone who only needs third-party wheel support or Xbox compatibility.

Build quality

Premium build

The Podium Hub uses a gold anodized aluminum monocoque with a space-frame design, a central hub machined from a single piece of aluminum and an all-aluminum QR2 Wheel-Side. SimRacingCockpit.gg found assembly with third-party wheels a touch fiddly, with spacer washers needed so the wheel sits square.

Software

The hub's ARM processor is firmware-upgradeable through the Windows-only Fanatec App, and connected Podium modules add buttons, analog axes and displays. Without a button module, the Tuning Menu is reached through the Fanatec software on PC, and on Podium bases the high-torque warning can be accepted by holding the wheel at 90 degrees. On PlayStation, functionality can be limited by the console and game support; it is not compatible with Xbox.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to add to the Podium Hub?

On its own the hub has no paddles or buttons. Fanatec offers the Podium Advanced Paddle Module, ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module, ClubSport Button Cluster Pack and Podium Button Module Endurance or Rally, plus any compatible rim. SimRacingCockpit.gg calls the bare hub feature-thin.

Can I use a third-party wheel with the Podium Hub?

Yes. Rims with 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm patterns mount directly, and third-party steering wheels can run with their own coiled USB cable to the PC. SimRacingCockpit.gg mounted a Cube Controls wheel but found assembly a touch fiddly, needing spacer washers.

How much depth does the Podium Hub add?

Reports differ by reference point. Boosted Media says the Podium Hub adds just under 50 mm between wheel and quick release, versus about 10 mm for the Fanatec Wheel Hub. SimRacingCockpit.gg measured about 20 mm more than a standard Cube Controls/Simucube hub.

How is the Podium Hub built?

Fanatec uses a gold anodized aluminum monocoque with a space frame and a central hub machined from one piece of aluminum, with an all-aluminum QR2 Wheel-Side. The reviews checked report no durability problems; SimRacingCockpit.gg's only build complaint was fiddly assembly.

Podium Hub, Fanatec Wheel Hub or ClubSport Universal Hub V2?

For third-party wheels only, Boosted Media finds the slimmer Fanatec Wheel Hub better value. For GT-style builds, SimRacingCockpit.gg recommends the ClubSport Universal Hub because it includes more controls. The Podium Hub makes most sense with Podium modules such as analog clutch paddles.

What warranty does the Podium Hub have?

Fanatec advertises a 3-year warranty on all products on its US store. It updated its warranty and return policies in 2025, as reported by GTPlanet, so check the current terms for your region before purchase.

How much does the Podium Hub cost?

On October 13, 2026 Fanatec listed it at $199.99 in the US and €169.95 in the EU; Boosted Media had seen it at $209.99. Paddle and button modules cost extra, so a complete Podium build costs considerably more.

How do I access the Tuning Menu with a bare Podium Hub?

Without a button module, use the Fanatec software on PC. On ClubSport V2 and CSL Elite V1/V1.1 bases that is not possible, so you need a display or button module on the hub. On Podium bases, accept the high-torque warning by holding the wheel at 90 degrees.
