This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies SimRacingPicker ("we," "us," or "our") uses on the website located at https://www.simracingpicker.com (the "Site"), what we store in them, and how you can control them.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make a site work, to remember your preferences, and to measure traffic. We also use "local storage", which works the same way as cookies but is kept in your browser without an expiry date.
2. Cookies We Use
We keep the categories deliberately small. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner.
2.1 Necessary (always active)
These are required for the Site to work and cannot be switched off. They remember your preferences and, for example, the products you have selected in the Setup Builder or the products you have marked as favorites.
- Preferences: your light or dark theme and your language choice.
- Setup Builder: the components in your rig, the platform filter and the price mode you picked.
- Compare and Favorites: the products you added to compare and the ones you saved.
- Cookie consent: your choice so we do not ask you again on every visit.
2.2 Analytics (optional)
Analytics help us understand which pages are useful and where the site can be improved. They count visits and page views in aggregate. They are only set if you accept them.
2.3 Marketing (optional)
Marketing cookies are used to measure how our affiliate links perform and to limit how often you see the same advertisement. They are only set if you accept them.
3. Affiliate Links
Many product links on the Site are affiliate links: if you buy something through one of them we may receive a small commission, and you pay exactly the same price. 5. Third-Party Cookies
Some content on the Site comes from third parties, such as retailer logos, product images or embedded videos. When you interact with that content, those third parties may set their own cookies under their own policies. We do not control them.
