Fanatec ClubSport Button Cluster Pack

Two adjustable 3-button clusters for the Podium Hub and ClubSport Universal Hubs

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Button Cluster Pack adds two button clusters with three buttons each to Fanatec's modular steering wheel system.

Use. Designed for the Podium Hub, which ships without clusters, and for the ClubSport Universal Hubs, where it lets you add an extra cluster or replace one. The angle and orientation of each cluster are adjustable, and 2.5 mm spacers are included to fine-tune position behind the rim.

Compatibility. Podium Hub, ClubSport Universal Hub and ClubSport Universal Hub for Xbox One. The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 can take a fifth cluster beyond the four included with it.

Adds six buttons to a modular Fanatec wheel
Essential inputs for a Podium Hub build

Driving style

The Button Cluster Pack is for drivers building a modular wheel on a Podium Hub or ClubSport Universal Hub who need more buttons for pit limiter, wipers, lights or TC/ABS in ACC, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and Gran Turismo 7. On a Podium Hub without a button module, it supplies the basic inputs.

It suits hub owners who want extra or repositioned buttons. Best for GT and endurance builds on Podium or ClubSport hubs; not useful for CSL hub owners, who cannot fit it.

Build quality

Entry-level build

Simple plastic button clusters with adjustable mounts and spacers. A reviewer of the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 notes the cluster button caps feel plasticky next to the hub's carbon and metal, though they click well.

Software

The clusters have no software of their own. Buttons are read by the Podium or ClubSport hub and mapped in each game or in the Fanatec App on Windows PC.

Platform support follows the hub and wheel base: Xbox needs an Xbox-licensed hub, PlayStation a PlayStation-licensed base.

Frequently asked questions

Which hubs does the Button Cluster Pack fit?

Fanatec lists the Podium Hub, the ClubSport Universal Hub and the ClubSport Universal Hub for Xbox One. It is not listed for CSL Universal Hubs.

Can I add a fifth cluster to the ClubSport Universal Hub V2?

Yes. Fanatec states an additional fifth button cluster can be attached to the ClubSport Universal Hub V2, which ships with four.

How do the buttons feel?

A SimRacingCockpit reviewer found the ClubSport cluster button caps click well but feel plasticky compared with the carbon fiber and rubber of the rest of the wheel.

Can I reposition the clusters?

Yes. Angle and orientation are adjustable, and six 2.5 mm spacers are included. The ClubSport Wheel Rim GT also includes a bracket that relocates the hub's clusters into the rim.

Button clusters or a Podium Button Module?

Clusters add six simple buttons cheaply. Podium Button Modules (Endurance or Rally) add many more inputs, rotaries and a display, at a much higher price.

Is it good value?

At $36.99 in the US it is the cheapest way to add buttons to a Podium or ClubSport hub build.

Will the clusters wear out?

They are simple button units without moving electronics beyond the switches. For faulty buttons, contact Fanatec support.

What's in the box?
