Fanatec ClubSport Universal Hub V2 + QR2 Wheel-side

Feature-rich universal hub with magnetic paddles, movable button clusters, display and QR2 Wheel-side

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Universal Hub V2 + QR2 Wheel-side bundle lets you attach any wheel rim with a 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm pattern to a Fanatec wheel base, including all current Fanatec rims and many MOMO, Sparco or OMP rims.

Magnetic paddles. The preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module uses neodymium magnets, a CNC-machined aluminum cage and 3 mm black anodized aluminum paddle plates, with small and large paddles and spacers included. Upgradable to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

Inputs. 16 integrated buttons on top of the hub, four movable button clusters with three buttons each (a fifth can be added), a 7-way FunkySwitch with rotary encoder, a Tuning Menu button and a three-digit LED display that can sit upright or flat. Paddles, clusters and FunkySwitch can be removed to save weight.

Expansion. Firmware-updatable electronics and a DataPort-C connector for the Podium Button Module Endurance (sold separately). Comes pre-configured for the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT or similar.

Driving style

The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 is for drivers who want a specific rim, such as a round classic, rally or road-car rim from MOMO, Sparco or OMP, with the full control set of a Fanatec GT wheel: magnetic paddles, many buttons and on-wheel tuning. Sim Racing Manual highlights its deep control set and consistent magnetic shifters, and SimRacingCockpit.gg recommends the ClubSport Universal Hub over the Podium Hub for GT-style builds because it has room for more controls. Best for PC and PlayStation drivers building a custom GT, rally or road-car wheel on a Fanatec base, less suited for Xbox players or drivers who need analog clutch paddles out of the box.

Build quality

Premium build

The hub uses a CNC-machined aluminum paddle module cage, 3 mm black anodized aluminum paddle plates and neodymium magnets, with modular button clusters and an LED display. Sim Racing Manual describes the construction as solid, and the improved V2 electronics are firmware-updatable.

Software

The Tuning Menu button, FunkySwitch and three-digit LED display give on-wheel access to Fanatec force feedback and hardware settings, and the display can show telemetry from compatible games or third-party software. Firmware updates and full configuration are done through the Windows-only Fanatec App. Full functionality is only guaranteed on PC; on PlayStation it can be limited by the console and game support.

Frequently asked questions

Which rims and bases work with the ClubSport Universal Hub V2?

Any Fanatec rim and third-party rims with a 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm pattern (e.g. MOMO, Sparco, OMP). Fanatec lists Podium DD, DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro bases. Buttons and paddles are hard to reach with large dished rims.

Does the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 work on Xbox or PlayStation?

This version is not compatible with Xbox; Fanatec sells a separate ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox. On PlayStation it can work with a licensed base, but Fanatec notes functionality may be limited and full functionality is only guaranteed on PC.

How do the magnetic paddles feel?

The preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module uses neodymium magnets for a strong, crisp click, and Sim Racing Manual describes a short, consistent throw. There are no analog clutch paddles; the Podium Advanced Paddle Module is an optional upgrade.

What changed from the original ClubSport Universal Hub?

Traxion reports the V2 replaced mechanical shifters with magnetic paddles, upgraded the electronics and added an interchangeable quick release system. Fanatec adds that the new electronics are firmware-updatable and support the Podium Button Module Endurance via DataPort-C.

ClubSport Universal Hub V2 or Podium Hub?

The Podium Hub is a premium aluminum core that needs separate paddle and button modules. SimRacingCockpit.gg recommends the ClubSport Universal Hub for GT-style wheels because it has room for an encoder, more button modules and a tuning button out of the box.

What warranty does the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 have?

Fanatec advertises a 3-year warranty on all products on its US store. It updated its warranty and return policies in 2025, as reported by GTPlanet, so check the current terms for your region before purchase.

How much does the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 + QR2 cost?

On October 13, 2026 Fanatec listed the bundle at $369.99 in the US (down from $429.98) and €319.95 in the EU (down from €379.90). Sim Racing Manual notes the rim is extra, so the cheapest Fanatec pairing comes to about $470.

Can I customize the button layout and display?

Yes. The four button clusters can be repositioned or removed, a fifth cluster can be added, the LED display mounts upright or flat, and paddles, clusters and FunkySwitch can be removed to save weight. Tuning is done on the display with the FunkySwitch or in the Fanatec App on PC.
