Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel SPARCO GT

Licensed SPARCO P310 replica in Alcantara on the ClubSport Universal Hub V2

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel SPARCO® GT bundles the ClubSport Wheel Rim SPARCO® GT with the ClubSport Universal Hub V2. The rim is an officially licensed replica of the SPARCO® P310: a popular flat design that is 310 mm wide but only 235 mm from top to bottom, made of brushed, anodized aluminum and wrapped in genuine Alcantara®.

Who it suits. Fanatec recommends the flat 310 mm shape for GT racing and single-seaters. Fanatec also states the rim fits the Podium Button Module Rally (sold separately).

Paddles. Preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module with 3 mm black anodized aluminum plates, CNC-machined aluminum cage and neodymium magnets; small and large plates and spacers included. No clutch paddles out of the box; upgradable to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

Controls and display. 16 integrated buttons on top of the hub, four adjustable and detachable 3-button clusters, a 7-way FunkySwitch, a Tuning Menu button and a three-digit LED display for settings and telemetry, mountable upright or flat.

Modularity. The hub accepts all Fanatec rims and third-party rims with 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm bolt patterns (Sparco, MOMO, OMP). DataPort-C supports the Podium Button Module Endurance (sold separately; it does not fit the SPARCO GT rim). Firmware-updatable electronics.

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. Windows PC and PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base (functionality may be limited). Not compatible with Xbox. QR2 Wheel-Side included, packaged separately.

Driving style

The SPARCO GT is an officially licensed replica of the Sparco P310: a 310 mm GT-style aluminium rim wrapped in genuine Alcantara, the shape real GT drivers use. The expanding CSL Universal Hub adjusts steplessly to the rim, its metal bracing stiffening the assembly, while eight snap-dome buttons, a rocker switch and adjustable shifter paddles keep inputs simple and precise in Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing and GT racing. Best for GT racing with gloves; less suited for formula cars, rally and drivers who need display-heavy controls.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The rim is officially licensed SPARCO: a GT-style aluminium wheel at 310 mm wrapped in genuine Alcantara, faithful to the P310 replica. The CSL Universal Hub V2 has an expanding design that adjusts by 60 mm with a stepless slider, metal bracing that improves rigidity up to 23% over V1, and ergonomic shifter paddles adjustable from 214 to 274 mm; the button islands are non-removable polymer with snap-dome activation. Metal and licensed materials dominate, with plastic limited to the integrated button pods.

Software

The SPARCO GT has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also updates the base and the firmware-updatable hub. On console, compatibility follows the base: pair it with a PlayStation-licensed base for PS4 and PS5 button layouts, while PC works with any Fanatec base; it is not Xbox-licensed, so Xbox requires one of the Xbox wheels instead. Buttons, encoders and paddles reach games through the Fanatec SDK in supported titles. FanaLab programs LED behaviour, and SimHub can drive displays with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheel bases and consoles does the ClubSport Steering Wheel SPARCO GT work with?

It needs a Fanatec wheel base. Fanatec lists Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. It works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base (functionality can be limited by the game). It is not Xbox compatible; Fanatec sells a separate SPARCO GT for Xbox.

Is this a real SPARCO wheel?

It is an officially licensed SPARCO replica of the P310 rim made by Fanatec, not a SPARCO-manufactured wheel. It keeps the P310's flat shape, 310 mm wide by 235 mm tall. Because the hub accepts 6 x 70 mm rims, you can also bolt on genuine SPARCO rims later.

Does it have clutch paddles, and how do the shifters feel?

No. The ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module has two magnetic shifters (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC aluminum cage, neodymium magnets) but no clutch paddles. Reviews describe a short, consistent, positive click without contact wear. Dual analog clutch paddles require the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

Do all the hub buttons work in Gran Turismo 7 on PS5?

Fanatec only guarantees full functionality on PC; on PlayStation it depends on the console and the game. On the Fanatec forum, a GT7 user reported that the FunkySwitch could not be configured in-game and its push acts as the PS button, while Fanatec staff pointed out the top buttons are dedicated inputs. Expect fewer mappable functions on PS5 than on PC.

How do I keep the Alcantara grip in good condition?

Fanatec advises wiping Alcantara rims with a microfiber cloth and lukewarm water and avoiding chemical cleaners. It notes gloves keep the rim clean but can add wear that is not covered by warranty. On GTPlanet, users report Alcantara mostly goes flat and grey from sweat and skin oils, and restore it with a damp microfiber cloth and a drop of mild soap.

How does it compare with the CSL Steering Wheel SPARCO GT?

Both use the licensed SPARCO P310 replica rim. The CSL version ($264.99) sits on the CSL Universal Hub V2 with an expanding slider and fixed button islands, while the ClubSport version ($504.99) uses removable button clusters, a CNC aluminum magnetic paddle module and a full metal QR2.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

Is the bundle better value than buying the hub and rim separately?

Fanatec US lists the bundle at $504.99 (regular $609.97). The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 + QR2 alone sells for $369.99. Reviewers suggest the hub alone only makes sense if you already own a rim or want a specific third-party one.

How do I adjust force feedback and update the firmware?

Press the Tuning button and use the FunkySwitch to change force feedback and other settings on the 3-digit display. The hub electronics are firmware-updatable through the Fanatec driver on PC, as Fanatec staff confirmed on the forum for the V2 hubs.
