Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel Porsche 911 GT3 R V2 for Xbox (Suede)

Porsche 991 GT3 R replica with Button Module Endurance on the Xbox Universal Hub V2

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel Porsche 911 GT3 R V2 for Xbox (Suede) is a full-scale replica of the Porsche 991 GT3 R wheel that combines the Podium Wheel Rim Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Suede), the Podium Button Module Endurance and the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox.

Rim. Built from original Porsche CAD data, the 320 mm brushed and anodized aluminum rim is covered in suede and carries a 3D metal Porsche badge. Fanatec highly recommends gloves with suede.

Podium Button Module Endurance. Real carbon fiber front plate with metal reinforcement. 10 buttons, two 2-way toggles, two 12-way multi-position switches with encoder mode, a 7-way FunkySwitch, a 2-axis analog stick, nine RGB RevLEDs, six RGB FlagLEDs and a 2.7" 256x64 OLED with Tuning Menu and ITM.

ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox. Its licensing chip makes any compatible Fanatec base work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC cage, neodymium magnets) for shifting only; no clutch paddles, but upgradable to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module. The hub's own buttons, clusters and FunkySwitch are not used with the button module, and some cluster disassembly is required. QR2 Wheel-Side included.

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD, Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2.5, ClubSport DD/DD+, CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, CSL Elite+ and CSL Elite V1.1. Works on Xbox, Windows PC and PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. Some features may not be supported on Xbox and depend on game support for the Fanatec SDK.

Driving style

This is a full-scale replica of the Porsche 991 GT3 R wheel: the Podium Wheel Rim Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in premium suede over a 320 mm aluminium rim with a metal Porsche badge, mounted on the Podium Button Module Endurance with its carbon fibre front plate, 10 buttons, toggles, 12-way switches and FunkySwitch. It is made for serious GT3 racing in Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing and Porsche Cup series, where authentic ergonomics and full control matter more than price. Best for GT3 and Porsche Cup racing; less suited for rally, drifting and casual road driving.

Build quality

Premium build

Every component is Podium grade: the wheel rim is aluminium at 32 cm wearing premium suede with a detailed metal Porsche badge, and the Podium Button Module Endurance beneath it has a real carbon fibre front plate, internal metal reinforcement and a rubber-coated glass fibre backplate, a full-scale replica of a class-leading endurance GT3 wheel. The assembly is rigid, precisely finished and heavy in the hand, with quick release hardware up to Podium standards and no cosmetic plastic in the structure.

Software

The Porsche 911 GT3 R V2 for Xbox Suede has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also updates the base and wheel electronics. The Xbox license lives in the wheel, so it is plug-and-play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One with any compatible Fanatec base, and it also works on PS4 and PS5 when paired with a PlayStation-licensed base; PC works with every Fanatec base. Telemetry reaches the wheel through the Fanatec SDK in supported games. FanaLab programs the LED patterns, and SimHub can drive the display with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ClubSport 911 GT3 R V2 for Xbox make my Fanatec base work on Xbox?

Yes. The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox makes compatible Fanatec bases work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, even bases licensed only for PlayStation. Fanatec lists Podium DD, Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2.5, ClubSport DD/DD+, CSL DD, GT DD Pro, CSL Elite+ and CSL Elite V1.1. Update the base firmware on a PC before mounting the hub; current firmware is required to keep Xbox compatibility.

Do the OLED, LEDs and extra buttons work on Xbox?

Partly. Fanatec says many extra buttons are mapped as duplicates of gamepad buttons or have no function on Xbox. Rev lights and displays were long unsupported; Fanatec's April 2025 SDK update added support, but only some titles such as Forza Motorsport (2023) and F1 25 use it so far. The display still works for Tuning Menu adjustments, and full functionality is only guaranteed on PC.

How does it differ from the Podium 911 GT3 R?

Both use the same Porsche 911 GT3 Cup rim and Button Module Endurance. This version swaps the Podium Hub and Advanced Paddle Module for the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox with magnetic shift paddles and no clutch paddles, which adds Xbox support. On Fanatec US it costs $734.99 versus $774.99 for the Podium version, which is not Xbox compatible.

Can I add clutch paddles later?

Yes. The preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module can be upgraded to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module. Note that a GTPlanet thread reports the APM's two small upper paddles not working on a ClubSport DD+ base with the Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, which a Fanatec technician reportedly called a known bug; the main shifters and analog clutch worked.

How does the Porsche rim and button module feel?

The simracing-pc.de review of the Porsche GT3 Cup rim and Button Module Endurance described the rim as a scale replica in brushed aluminum and praised the buttons' very pleasant pressure point, while noting the button plate does not quite match full metal and carbon premium wheels. BSIMRacing recommends gloves because of the suede.

Do I need gloves for the suede rim?

Fanatec highly recommends gloves with this product because of the suede. Fanatec also notes that gloves can add wear to rim materials and that this extra wear is not covered by warranty. For cleaning, it advises a microfiber cloth with lukewarm water and no chemical cleaners.

Is it good value?

Fanatec US lists it at $734.99 against a combined component price of $849.97, and it is one of the few ways to run the Button Module Endurance on Xbox. The simracing-pc.de review found the Porsche set expensive within Fanatec's range but justified for Porsche fans. On Xbox, part of the button module's features may go unused depending on the game.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

How do I adjust settings and keep the firmware up to date?

Force feedback and hardware settings are adjusted in the Tuning Menu on the 2.7-inch OLED, which works on every platform including Xbox. LED behavior is customized in FanaLab on PC. Firmware is updated through the Fanatec driver on PC, and Fanatec notes current firmware is required to maintain Xbox compatibility.
