Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel 320 Alcantara

320 mm round Alcantara wheel on the ClubSport Universal Hub V2, ready for the Button Module Endurance

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel 320 Alcantara® bundles the ClubSport Wheel Rim 320 Alcantara® with the ClubSport Universal Hub V2. The rim is a fully round, three-spoke 320 mm design with ergonomic grips, made of brushed, anodized aluminum and wrapped in genuine Alcantara® with a leather center stripe and contrast cross stitching. The rim alone weighs 839 g.

Who it suits. Fanatec positions it as a multi-purpose wheel: 320 mm suits GT, touring and road cars as well as general use. It is designed to fit the Podium Button Module Endurance (sold separately), which turns it into a fully featured endurance-style wheel.

Paddles. The preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module uses 3 mm black anodized aluminum paddle plates in a CNC-machined aluminum cage with neodymium magnets, with small and large plates and spacers included. No clutch paddles out of the box; the hub can be upgraded with the Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

Controls and display. 16 integrated buttons on top of the hub, four adjustable and detachable 3-button clusters (a fifth can be added), a 7-way FunkySwitch, a Tuning Menu button and a three-digit LED display for Tuning Menu settings and telemetry, mountable upright or flat.

Modularity. The hub accepts all Fanatec rims and third-party rims with a 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm bolt pattern (Sparco, MOMO, OMP and others). DataPort-C connects the Podium Button Module Endurance directly. Firmware-updatable electronics.

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. Windows PC and PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base (functionality may be limited by console and game). Not compatible with Xbox. QR2 Wheel-Side included, packaged separately.

Driving style

The 320 Alcantara pairs a 320 mm aluminium rim wrapped in genuine Alcantara with a light grey leather centre stripe, the grip most GT and endurance racers prefer when they drive with gloves. The size is a classic GT compromise, neither too quick nor too slow, and the Universal Hub adds 16 buttons, a FunkySwitch and magnetic paddles for pit limiter, ABS and traction control in Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing and GT Challenge events. The rim is also compatible with the Podium Button Module Endurance for an upgrade path. Best for GT and endurance racing with gloves; less suited for bare-hand casual sessions, where Alcantara wears faster, and for formula cars.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The rim is a three-spoke aluminium piece at 320 mm wrapped in genuine Alcantara with a light grey leather centre stripe and grey stitching, weighing 839 g, and it is ready for the optional Podium Button Module Endurance. It mounts to the aluminium ClubSport Universal Hub V2, firmware-updatable and open to third-party 70 mm and 50 mm bolt-pattern rims, with a CNC-machined aluminium magnetic paddle cage, 3 mm anodised plates and neodymium magnets. Polymer shows up only in the removable button clusters and FunkySwitch.

Software

The 320 Alcantara has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also updates the base and the firmware-updatable Universal Hub. On console, compatibility follows the base: pair it with a PlayStation-licensed base for PS4 and PS5 button layouts, while PC works with any Fanatec base; it is not Xbox-licensed, so Xbox requires one of the Xbox wheels instead. Inputs reach games through the Fanatec SDK, and SimHub can push custom telemetry to compatible displays.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheel bases and consoles does the ClubSport Steering Wheel 320 Alcantara work with?

It needs a Fanatec wheel base. Fanatec lists Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. It works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base (functionality can be limited by the game). It is not Xbox compatible.

Does the Podium Button Module Endurance fit this wheel?

Yes. Fanatec designed the 320 Alcantara rim to fit the Podium Button Module Endurance (sold separately), and the Universal Hub V2 connects to it directly through its DataPort-C port, without the adapter the first-generation hub needed.

Does it have clutch paddles, and how do the shifters feel?

No. The ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module has two magnetic shifters (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC aluminum cage, neodymium magnets) but no clutch paddles. Reviews describe a short, consistent, positive click without contact wear. Dual analog clutch paddles require the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

Do all the hub buttons work in Gran Turismo 7 on PS5?

Fanatec only guarantees full functionality on PC; on PlayStation it depends on the console and the game. On the Fanatec forum, a GT7 user reported that the FunkySwitch could not be configured in-game and its push acts as the PS button, while Fanatec staff pointed out the top buttons are dedicated inputs. Expect fewer mappable functions on PS5 than on PC.

How do I keep the Alcantara grip in good condition?

Fanatec advises wiping Alcantara rims with a microfiber cloth and lukewarm water and avoiding chemical cleaners. It notes gloves keep the rim clean but can add wear that is not covered by warranty. On GTPlanet, users report that Alcantara mostly goes flat and grey from sweat and skin oils, and restore it with a damp microfiber cloth and a drop of mild soap; washing hands before driving also helps.

How does it compare with the CSL Steering Wheel 320 Alcantara V2?

Both use a 320 mm Alcantara rim, but the CSL version comes on the cheaper CSL Universal Hub V2 with an expanding slider and fixed button islands, while the ClubSport version uses removable button clusters, a CNC aluminum magnetic paddle module and a full metal QR2. Fanatec US lists them at $264.99 and $514.99 respectively.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

Is the bundle better value than buying the hub and rim separately?

Fanatec US lists the bundle at $514.99 (regular $609.97). The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 + QR2 alone sells for $369.99. Reviewers suggest the hub alone only makes sense if you already own a rim or want a specific third-party one.

How do I adjust force feedback and update the firmware?

Press the Tuning button and use the FunkySwitch to change force feedback and other settings on the 3-digit display. The hub electronics are firmware-updatable through the Fanatec driver on PC, as Fanatec staff confirmed on the forum for the V2 hubs.
