Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally

Real WRC hardware: Sparco R383 suede rim with the M-Sport Podium Button Module Rally and QR2 Pro

Description

The Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally celebrates Sébastien Loeb's 2022 Monte Carlo Rally win with M-Sport. It combines a genuine Sparco R383 rim with the Podium Button Module Rally, the module used in the 2022 and 2023 Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 WRC cars, plus the Podium Hub and the QR2 Pro Wheel-Side.

Rim. Original 330 mm Sparco R383 in suede with a blue center ring and Sparco logo.

Podium Button Module Rally. An official M-Sport World Rally Team product that weighs 280 g including its adapter ring. It has nine RGB-backlit buttons with 600 g activation force and interchangeable inserts, two D-pads, three 12-way multi-position switches with rotary encoder option and color-programmable lighting, and a 1" OLED with Tuning Menu access. It mounts in front of the rim, so it adds no flex or play to the steering.

Hub and quick release. Gold-anodized aluminum monocoque Podium Hub and a CNC-machined billet aluminum QR2 Pro Wheel-Side that meets FIA standards. The bundle has no shifter paddles; it is designed for use with a separate shifter or handbrake, and the Podium Hub accepts the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro, with ClubSport V2.5 and CSL Elite support listed as coming soon. Works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. Not compatible with Xbox.

Driving style

The Podium Monte Carlo Rally combines the original 330 mm SPARCO R383 suede rim with the Podium Button Module Rally, an official M-Sport product designed for the 2022 and 2023 Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 WRC cars. Nine RGB backlit buttons, two D-pads, three 12-way multi-position switches and a 1-inch OLED give you pace-note, reset and telemetry control in EA SPORTS WRC, DiRT Rally 2.0 and iRacing rally stages, and the R383 shape is exactly what real rally drivers hold. Best for rally and rallycross; less suited for formula racing and GT3 sprints.

Build quality

Premium build

The rim is an original SPARCO R383 at 330 mm in genuine suede with the blue Sparco centre ring, the actual competition rim, not a lookalike. The Podium Button Module Rally is an official M-Sport product in a compact, lightweight, durable body with nine RGB LED-backlit buttons at 600 g activation force, interchangeable inserts, two D-pads, three 12-way switches with rotary encoder option and a 1-inch OLED display. Licensed materials and Podium electronics make this genuine competition-grade hardware.

Software

The Podium Monte Carlo Rally has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also delivers firmware updates for the base and the wheel modules. On console, compatibility follows the base: pair it with a PlayStation-licensed base for PS4 and PS5, while PC works with any Fanatec base. The 1-inch OLED shows telemetry and the RGB buttons can be programmed per stage through FanaLab or the Fanatec SDK. Telemetry and inputs reach the wheel through the Fanatec SDK in supported games, FanaLab programs LED behaviour, and SimHub can drive displays with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheel bases and consoles does the Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally work with?

It needs a Fanatec wheel base. Fanatec lists Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD/DD+, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro, with support for ClubSport V2.5, CSL Elite V1.1 and CSL Elite+ marked as coming soon. It works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. It is not compatible with Xbox.

Does it have shifter paddles?

No. The bundle includes the Sparco R383 rim, Podium Button Module Rally, Podium Hub and QR2 Pro, but no paddles. Traxion notes it is designed to be used with a separate Fanatec shifter. The Podium Hub has a connector for the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module if you want paddles.

Does the module work with sequential shifters on PS5?

A user on the Fanatec forum reported that sequential shifting did nothing on PS5 in Gran Turismo and EA WRC with the Podium Button Module Rally attached, while H-pattern worked and the same shifter worked with other wheels. No official fix or workaround was posted in that thread. Another forum user noted that the base firmware must be up to date for PS5 to detect the module.

Is this real WRC hardware or a replica?

Fanatec says the Sparco R383 and Podium Button Module Rally are the same hardware used in the 2022 and 2023 M-Sport Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 cars, including Sébastien Loeb's 2022 Monte Carlo win. The module mounts in front of the rim and weighs 280 g with its adapter ring, so it adds no flex or play to the steering.

How does it compare with the GT-focused Podium wheels?

The Podium 911 GT3 R and GT3 Endurance include the Button Module Endurance (2.7-inch OLED, analog stick, RevLEDs) and the Advanced Paddle Module. The Monte Carlo Rally instead has a compact rally module with backlit buttons and a 1-inch OLED, a round 330 mm Sparco rim, a QR2 Pro, and no paddles, reflecting how rally drivers use a separate shifter and handbrake.

Is it worth the price, and is it in stock?

Fanatec US lists it at $784.99 (combined component price $1,009.96) but marks it out of stock; the EU store lists it at 699.95 EUR in stock. At launch the module alone was 249.95 and the bundle 699.95 (EUR/USD), and Traxion noted a long wait between announcement and shipping. On the Fanatec forum, some buyers called it a product for wealthy buyers.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

What can I customize on the button module?

The nine buttons and three multi-position switches have programmable RGB backlighting with adjustable brightness, and the button inserts are interchangeable to change the layout. The 1-inch OLED gives access to the Tuning Menu. Lighting and symbols are configured in FanaLab on PC.
