Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel Bentley GT3

Bentley Continental GT3 Pikes Peak wheel with a round 3.4" touch display and QR2 Pro

Description

The Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel Bentley GT3 was developed with Bentley Motors for the real Continental GT3 Pikes Peak hill climb car and for sim racing at the same time. It is officially licensed and built around a magnesium alloy core with a 5 mm carbon fiber front plate in a custom green weave and Alcantara grips, at 310 mm and about 1900 g.

Display. The centerpiece is a self-levelling, circular 3.4" 800 x 800 px touch-screen LCD with a forged carbon bezel. It shows game telemetry with a bespoke interface and a touch-driven Tuning Menu adjusted with the FunkySwitch, powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor.

Controls. Eight snap-dome buttons (600 g) with backlit surrounds, two 7-way FunkySwitch sticks with encoder function, two aluminum thumb wheels with optical encoders, four CNC aluminum rotary encoders with Bentley knurling, nine RGB RevLEDs and six RGB FlagLEDs programmable in FanaLab. The integrated paddle system, based on the Continental GT shifters, has four magnetic paddles and two Hall-sensor analog clutch paddles.

Extras. A removable Pikes Peak Grip adds a lower rim section for tight hairpins. The included USB-powered aluminum wall/desk mount turns the wheel into a Bentley-style clock (Timepiece Mode) or replays preloaded telemetry and videos (Track Mode) without a wheel base. A travel case, sticker set and button caps are included. QR2 Pro Wheel-Side is preinstalled.

Compatibility. Direct drive bases only: CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport DD/DD+, Podium DD1/DD2 and Podium DD (2026). Works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. Not compatible with Xbox.

Driving style

The Podium Bentley GT3 is the wheel built for the Bentley Continental GT3 Pikes Peak hill climb car, and it brings that intent to the sim: a 310 mm Alcantara-gripped wheel with an optional lower Pikes Peak grip, a 5 mm carbon fibre plate in custom green weave, a magnesium alloy core and a self-levelling 3.4-inch circular touch display showing telemetry at the centre of the wheel. It meets FIA standards and suits the biggest GT3 and hill-climb events in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and Pikes Peak mods. Best for GT3 racing, hill climbs and showcase cockpits; less suited for budget builds, rally and formula cars.

Build quality

Premium build

Every gram is engineered: a 5 mm-thick carbon fibre plate with custom green weave over a magnesium alloy core for maximum stiffness and minimum weight, forged carbon details that make each wheel unique, and an anti-reflective coating on the cockpit-facing surfaces. The Alcantara grips are shaped around real GT3 ergonomics, the optional lower grip changes the hand position for different driving styles, and the QR2 Pro Wheel-Side comes preinstalled to handle direct-drive torque. It is FIA-standard equipment, not a cosmetic replica.

Software

The Podium Bentley GT3 has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also delivers firmware updates for the base and the wheel modules. On console, compatibility follows the base: pair it with a PlayStation-licensed base for PS4 and PS5, while PC works with any Fanatec base. The self-levelling 3.4-inch circular touch display runs its own telemetry interface and works alongside the base tuning menu. Telemetry and inputs reach the wheel through the Fanatec SDK in supported games, FanaLab programs LED behaviour, and SimHub can drive displays with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheel bases and consoles does the Podium Steering Wheel Bentley GT3 work with?

Fanatec lists direct drive bases only: CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport DD/DD+, Podium DD1/DD2 and Podium DD (2026). Belt-driven ClubSport and CSL Elite bases are not listed. It works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base, and is not compatible with Xbox.

What does the round display do?

The self-levelling 3.4-inch 800 x 800 touch screen shows game telemetry with a bespoke interface, and the Tuning Menu is opened by touch and adjusted with the FunkySwitch. Top Gear, which tried it, praised the slick, crisp custom interface and noted telemetry and menus depend on supported games.

How does it feel to use?

Top Gear called it the most opulent piece of sim-racing kit you are likely to use and found the knurled aluminum rotaries satisfying and easy to grip with racing gloves. The wheel weighs about 1900 g, uses a magnesium core for stiffness, and has magnetic shifters plus Hall-sensor analog clutch paddles. The optional Pikes Peak Grip adds a lower section for tight hairpins.

Were there problems with the display at launch?

Yes, before release. Traxion reported that Fanatec delayed the wheel to 2023 because of the semiconductor shortage and because Fanatec's CEO said the company was unsatisfied with the display's performance, so the electronics were re-engineered. The mechanical design was described as sound. Firmware is updated over the integrated USB-C port.

Can I use it without a wheel base?

Yes, as a display piece. The included USB-powered aluminum wall/desk mount activates Exhibition Mode, where the screen shows an analog clock inspired by the Continental GT (Timepiece Mode) or replays preloaded telemetry and videos of famous circuits (Track Mode). A USB power adapter is not included.

How does it compare with the Podium BMW M4 GT3?

Both are real race car wheels with a preinstalled QR2 Pro and magnetic shifters with dual analog clutch paddles, and Fanatec US lists the Bentley at $1,499.99. The Bentley has a magnesium core, Alcantara grips, a large round touch display and a display mount, while the BMW M4 GT3 is FIA-homologated, forged carbon with rubber grips and a small 1-inch OLED.

Is the Bentley GT3 wheel worth the price?

It is one of Fanatec's most expensive wheels at $1,499.99 on Fanatec US and 1,499.95 EUR in Europe. Top Gear joked that its luxury might require remortgaging your home, while praising the build and interface. Value depends on how much the Bentley design, display and showpiece modes matter compared with more conventional Podium wheels.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.
