Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel RS

320 mm round leather wheel with aluminum magnetic paddles and QR2

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel RS is a 320 mm fully round wheel suited to a wide range of road and GT cars. The rim is wrapped in genuine automotive-grade leather over a metal and carbon fiber construction, with an improved grip shape and torsional strength over earlier versions.

Paddles. The preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module uses 3 mm black anodized aluminum paddle plates in a CNC-machined aluminum cage with neodymium magnets. It can be upgraded to the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module to add clutch paddles.

Controls and displays. 11 buttons plus two paddle buttons, a 7-way FunkySwitch (D-pad, push button and rotary encoder) and an analog joystick. A RevLED bar sits in the top of the rim, and a three-digit LED display shows telemetry and gives access to the Tuning Menu. The electronics are firmware-updatable.

Compatibility. Works on Windows PC and on PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base (functionality may be limited on console); it is not Xbox compatible. Fanatec lists Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport DD+, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. A metal QR2 Wheel-Side is preinstalled; a QR1 Wheel-Side is available for QR1 bases.

Driving style

The ClubSport RS is a 320 mm rim wrapped in genuine automotive-grade leather, the same quality used in real cars, with a metal and carbon fibre body that puts it a step above the Universal Hub wheels. The RevLED bar in the rim shows engine RPM and the LED display carries telemetry, while 11 buttons, two paddle buttons and magnetic paddles cover inputs in Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Forza and GT racing. It suits drivers who want one high-quality round wheel for everything. Best for GT, touring and all-rounders who want a display; less suited for rally, drifting and formula cars.

Build quality

Premium build

Construction mixes metal and carbon fibre in the front structure, and the rim is wrapped in genuine automotive-grade leather over a 320 mm aluminium frame with improved torsional strength. The ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module comes pre-installed with 3 mm anodised aluminium plates in a CNC-machined aluminium cage on neodymium magnets, and it upgrades to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module. QR2 comes pre-installed, the electronics are firmware-updatable, and the whole assembly feels like a single solid piece rather than parts bolted together.

Software

The RS has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also updates the base and the firmware-updatable hub. On console, compatibility follows the base: pair it with a PlayStation-licensed base for PS4 and PS5 button layouts, while PC works with any Fanatec base; it is not Xbox-licensed, so Xbox requires one of the Xbox wheels instead. The RevLED bar and LED display show RPM and telemetry in supported games. FanaLab programs LED behaviour, and SimHub can drive displays with custom dashboards.
