Fanatec CSL Steering Wheel GT3
300 mm Xbox-licensed GT3 wheel with OLED and dual clutch paddles
Description
The Fanatec CSL Steering Wheel GT3 (SKU CRD-9020021-WW) is a full-size, 300 mm GT3-style steering wheel and the successor to the CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 V2. It keeps the proven layout, grips and paddle system of its predecessor, and adds a 1" OLED display and a preinstalled QR2 Lite Wheel-Side. It weighs 1290 g including the quick release.
Paddles. A rocker-style magnetic shifter, precision-cut from anodized aluminum with a diamond-texture grip, allows up- and down-shifts with one hand on either side. Below it, two honeycomb-reinforced analog paddles switch between four modes with the center switch: clutch bite-point (standard/advanced), clutch/handbrake, brake/throttle (driving without pedals) and mappable axis.
Controls. The face includes two 12-position multi-position switches with rotary-encoder mode, a 7-way FunkySwitch, two 2-way toggle switches, two high-bezel snap-dome Pit and Neutral buttons (~2500 gf), seven standard buttons with removable caps, and a Tuning Menu button for force feedback and hardware settings on the wheel. Xbox and racing-style button caps are included.
Display and grips. The 1" white OLED (128 × 64) shows the Tuning Menu and basic data. The overmolded rubber grips use a 50 Shore A compound; the front plate is carbon-fiber-reinforced composite.
Compatibility. The wheel is designed for Xbox: on any compatible Fanatec base it makes the whole system, including attached pedals, shifters and handbrakes, work on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It also works on Windows PC, and on PS4/PS5 when paired with a PlayStation-licensed direct drive base. Compatible bases: CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, Podium DD1 and Podium DD2. It is QR1 compatible and allows High Torque Mode on ClubSport DD/DD+ and Podium bases with the preinstalled QR2 Lite.
Features & highlights
Driving style
The CSL GT3 is a full-size 300 mm GT3-style wheel designed for Xbox, with overmoulded 50 Shore A rubber grips, custom magnetic rocker shifters you can operate one-handed, and two analog paddles that switch between dual clutch, handbrake and brake/throttle modes. The 1-inch OLED shows gear and speed, the FunkySwitch and encoders handle tuning, and QR2 Lite is preinstalled for any Fanatec base. It is made for GT3 racing in Forza, Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing. Best for GT3 and GT racing on Xbox or PC; less suited for rally, drifting and formula cars.
Build quality
The body is carbon fibre-reinforced composite with diamond-texture overmoulded rubber grips at 50 Shore A, and the paddles are precision-cut anodised aluminium, including the rocker-style magnetic shifter and the two honeycomb-reinforced analog paddles. At 1290 g with QR2 Lite it feels dense and well assembled, with metal in the paddle system and composites in the shell. It is premium-feeling mid-range hardware: serious inputs and a real display, without Podium-level full-metal construction.
Software
The CSL GT3 has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also handles firmware updates. The Xbox license lives in the wheel, so it is plug-and-play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One with any compatible Fanatec base, and it also works on PS4 and PS5 when paired with a PlayStation-licensed base; PC works with every Fanatec base. The 1-inch 128 x 64 OLED shows telemetry such as gear and speed, and the analog paddles can work as a dual clutch in supported games. Inputs and telemetry use the Fanatec SDK, and SimHub can push custom dashboards to compatible displays.
