Fanatec Podium Pedals Sport

2-pedal Podium set with forged aluminum load cell brake, Compression Control System and GT-style aluminum plates

Description

The Fanatec Podium Pedals Sport are a 2-pedal set (throttle and brake) and the most affordable way into Fanatec's Podium pedal range. They share the brake and throttle of the Podium Pedals Formula, but use GT-style aluminum pedal plates instead of carbon fiber, which suit both left-foot and right-foot braking.

Brake. A forged aluminum pedal arm and mid arm with a custom load cell rated over 200 kg, calibrated to 150 kg at the pedal plate. The patented Compression Control System adjusts travel and resistance without tools: threaded cups can be closed fully for a firm, near-zero-travel brake, or staggered so the response ramps up progressively. Two softer spring sets are included.

Throttle. Diecast and CNC-machined aluminum with a factory-calibrated Hall sensor, an industrial-grade pivot bearing, and independent tool-free preload and travel adjustment (about 20 mm).

Software. Preset or custom output curves and dead zones are set in the Fanatec App and saved on the pedals, so they stay active on consoles; curves can also be selected from the Tuning Menu.

Connection and mounting. A compact control box supports RJ12 and USB-C at the same time. The pedals mount on most rigs using industry-standard points, support inverted mounting, and fit the optional Podium Pedals Mounting Plate and Heel Rest. Haptic mounts are provided for future expansion, and the Podium clutch module is compatible.

Compatibility. CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport DD/DD+, Podium DD1/DD2 and Podium DD (2026). Windows PC via a Fanatec base or standalone USB; PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base; Xbox with a supported base and an Xbox-licensed steering wheel.

Driving style

The Podium Pedals Sport take the brake and throttle of Fanatec's top pedal set and pair them with GT-style aluminum plates, a shape that works for both left-foot and right-foot braking. The 150 kg calibrated load cell and the Compression Control System let you go from a soft, long brake to a near-rigid race-car pedal, which suits GT3, endurance and touring racing in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Le Mans Ultimate and Gran Turismo 7. Dg-edge describes them as offering the same core performance as the Formula at the lowest price in the Podium range.

Best for GT and endurance drivers on a Fanatec direct drive base who want Podium braking without paying for carbon parts; less suited for drivers who need a clutch out of the box for H-pattern cars, or buyers on a tight budget, for whom the ClubSport Pedals V3 or CSL Pedals LC cost much less.

Build quality

Premium build

The brake pedal arm and mid arm are forged aluminum, the throttle is diecast and CNC-machined aluminum with a factory-calibrated Hall sensor, and every pedal pivots on industrial-grade ball bearings. The pedal plates are GT-style aluminum rather than the carbon fiber of the Formula version, and the finish is black with anodized gold accents on the adjustment points. A screw-stripping issue was reported on early Podium Pedals Formula units; Fanatec has not reported the same issue on the Sport.

Software

Pedal output curves, dead zones and brake settings are configured in the Windows-only Fanatec App and saved in the pedals' internal memory, so the same setup carries over to PlayStation and Xbox through a compatible Fanatec base; preset and custom curves can also be picked from the base's Tuning Menu. On PC the pedals work through the wheel base over RJ12 or as a standalone USB-C device, and both connections can stay plugged in at the same time.

Firmware updates also come through the Fanatec App. Over USB on PC the pedals show up as a standard controller, so tools such as SimHub can read the inputs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Podium Pedals Sport and the Podium Pedals Formula?

Both are 2-pedal sets with the same forged aluminum load cell brake (calibrated to 150 kg), Compression Control System and Hall-sensor throttle. The Sport uses GT-style aluminum pedal plates, while the Formula adds carbon fiber plates and heel cups. On Fanatec US the Sport costs $599.99 versus $699.99 for the Formula.

Which wheel bases and consoles work with the Podium Pedals Sport?

Fanatec lists the CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport DD and DD+, Podium DD1/DD2 and Podium DD (2026). On PC they work through the base via RJ12 or standalone over USB. PlayStation needs a PlayStation-licensed Fanatec base, and Xbox needs a supported base plus an Xbox-licensed steering wheel.

Do the Podium Pedals Sport include a clutch or a mounting plate?

No. It is a 2-pedal set (throttle and brake). The Podium clutch module and the Podium Pedals Mounting Plate and Heel Rest are sold separately and are fully compatible. The pedals can also bolt directly to most rigs using industry-standard mounting points, including inverted mounting.

How do you adjust the brake feel on the Podium Pedals Sport?

The Compression Control System uses threaded cups you turn by hand to set travel and resistance. Closing them fully gives a firm, near-zero-travel brake; staggering them makes the stiffness ramp up progressively toward full braking. Two softer spring sets are included for a longer, softer pedal.

Are the Podium Pedals Sport affected by the stripped screw issue?

The stripped screw reports concerned some early Podium Pedals Formula units, and Fanatec offered the Pedals Sport as one of the replacement options for affected owners. Fanatec has not announced the same issue on the Sport, but independent long-term reviews of the Sport are still limited.

Do custom pedal curves work on PlayStation and Xbox?

Yes. Curves and dead zones are created in the Fanatec App on Windows and saved to the pedals' internal memory, so they stay active on console. Preset and custom curves can also be selected from the wheel base's Tuning Menu. Forum users cite on-wheel brake and curve adjustment as a key reason to choose Fanatec pedals on console.

Are the Podium Pedals Sport worth it compared with cheaper load cell pedals?

They cost $599.99, well above the ClubSport Pedals V3 ($429.99) or third-party load cell sets, and the clutch and mounting plate add to the total. GTPlanet users note that budget sets such as SimNet offer strong value, while the Podium's draws are its build, Compression Control System and on-wheel tuning inside the Fanatec ecosystem.

Is the Podium Pedals Sport in stock?

As of October 20, 2026, Fanatec US lists it as available at $599.99, while Fanatec's EU stores show it at €599.95 but currently unavailable. It launched at the end of September 2026 as the lowest-priced entry into the Podium pedal range.
