Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel GT3 for Xbox

318 mm rubber-grip GT3 rim with cluster bracket on the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel GT3 for Xbox bundles the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT3 with the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, whose licensing chip makes any compatible Fanatec base, pedals and shifters work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Rim. The 318 mm rim is CNC-machined from black anodized aluminum with overmolded rubber grips (50 Shore A) similar to the Podium BMW M4 GT3. A reinforcement bracket mounts the button clusters rigidly around the rim, and the FunkySwitch can go on the left or right. Weight including bracket: 700 g. Ten printable sticker sheets and a squeegee are included.

ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox. Preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC cage, neodymium magnets), 16 integrated hub buttons, four 3-button clusters, Xbox-symbol and racing-style button caps, a 7-way FunkySwitch, Tuning Menu button and a three-digit LED display. Accepts 6 x 70 mm and 3 x 50 mm bolt-pattern rims and has DataPort-C for the Podium Button Module Endurance. The Podium Advanced Paddle Module cannot be used while the cluster bracket is installed. QR2 Wheel-Side preinstalled.

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD, Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. Works on Xbox, Windows PC and PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base; console functionality can be limited and is game-dependent.

Driving style

The ClubSport GT3 for Xbox is a 318 mm GT3-style rim with overmoulded 50 Shore A rubber grips, CNC-machined black anodised aluminium and blank sticker sheets for authentic GT3 button layouts, with the Xbox licence built into the hub. Rubber grips work with or without gloves, the LED display unit and FunkySwitch put telemetry and tuning at your fingertips, and magnetic paddles shift cleanly in Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing. Best for GT3 and GT racing on Xbox or PC; less suited for rally, drifting and formula cars that expect different rim shapes.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The 318 mm rim is CNC-machined, black anodised aluminium with overmoulded rubber grips at 50 Shore A, weighing 700 g with its bracket, and it includes blank sticker sheets for custom button graphics. It mounts to the aluminium ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, which carries the Xbox security chip for the whole system and is firmware-updatable, with a magnetic paddle module built on a CNC-machined aluminium cage and 3 mm anodised plates. Metal dominates the structure; the button clusters, FunkySwitch and display housing are polymer.

Software

The GT3 for Xbox has no driver of its own: firmware, Tuning Menu and force feedback settings run through the Fanatec wheel base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which also updates the base and wheel electronics. The Xbox license lives in the wheel, so it is plug-and-play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One with any compatible Fanatec base, and it also works on PS4 and PS5 when paired with a PlayStation-licensed base; PC works with every Fanatec base. The LED display unit shows telemetry such as gear and speed in supported games. FanaLab programs the LED patterns, and SimHub can drive the display with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ClubSport GT3 for Xbox make my Fanatec base work on Xbox?

Yes. The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox enables Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S compatibility on all connected Fanatec hardware, even bases licensed only for PlayStation. Fanatec lists Podium DD, Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and GT DD Pro. Current firmware is required to keep Xbox compatibility.

Do all buttons and the display work on Xbox?

Not always. Fanatec says many extra buttons are mapped as duplicates of gamepad buttons or have no function on Xbox, and display telemetry depends on game support for its SDK, currently used by only some titles. The three-digit display still works for Tuning Menu adjustments on Xbox.

Can I add clutch paddles?

Not with the bracket fitted. Fanatec notes the Podium Advanced Paddle Module cannot be used on a ClubSport Universal Hub when the button cluster bracket is installed, because the cluster cables interfere with the paddles. The included ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module offers shifting only.

How do the rim and shifters feel?

The 318 mm rim uses 50 Shore A overmolded rubber grips similar to the Podium BMW M4 GT3, and Traxion describes it as ideally sized for virtual sportscar driving. The ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module has 3 mm aluminum plates and neodymium magnets; reviews of the Universal Hub V2 describe a short, consistent, positive click.

How does it compare with the ClubSport GT3 Endurance for Xbox?

Both use the same 318 mm rubber-grip rim shape and the Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, and Fanatec says the feel is fundamentally the same. The GT3 Endurance for Xbox adds the Podium Button Module Endurance with a 2.7-inch OLED and analog stick for $684.99 on Fanatec US, versus $499.98 for this version with the hub's own clusters and LED display.

Is the bundle good value?

Fanatec US lists it at $499.98, while the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox alone is $399.99. Traxion reported the rim alone at 99.95 EUR, so the bundle effectively adds the GT3 rim and bracket at about the rim's standalone price. Reviewers suggest the hub alone mainly makes sense if you already own a rim.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

How do I adjust settings and keep the firmware up to date?

Press the Tuning button and use the FunkySwitch to change force feedback and hardware settings on the three-digit display, which works on every platform including Xbox. Firmware is updated through the Fanatec driver on PC; Fanatec notes that current firmware is required to maintain Xbox compatibility.
