Driving style

The Drift rim is a 32 cm deep-dish round wheel built for drifting and rally. Its shape suits Assetto Corsa and CarX drift setups, EA SPORTS WRC and DiRT Rally 2.0 stages, and rallycross, where you spin the wheel hand over hand and counter-steer quickly. The smooth leather lets hands slide through corrections.

It fits Fanatec hub owners focused on drift or rally. Best for drifting, rally and rallycross; less suited for formula and GT3 racing, where flat or smaller rims are faster and more precise.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The brushed, anodized aluminum dish and genuine smooth leather make a sturdy rim with no electronics, and a silver metal hub cover is included. Smooth leather handles sliding hands and bare-hand use well. It is a standard ClubSport rim, not a licensed replica.

Software

The ClubSport Wheel Rim Drift has no electronics and needs no software. Buttons, paddles and console licensing come from the Fanatec hub and wheel base, configured in the Fanatec App on Windows PC.

Platform support follows the hub and base: Xbox requires an Xbox hub such as the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, and PlayStation requires a PlayStation-licensed base. On PC, SimHub and other tools work with the hub's inputs as usual.

Frequently asked questions

Which hubs does the ClubSport Wheel Rim Drift fit?

Fanatec lists the Podium Hub, ClubSport Universal Hub (all versions) and CSL Universal Hub, with no drilling. A hub is required and sold separately.

Does it work on consoles?

The rim has no electronics. Console support comes from the hub and base: an Xbox hub for Xbox and a PlayStation-licensed base for PlayStation.

Why a deep-dish rim for drifting?

Fanatec says the deep dish and round shape make it ideal for drifting and rally. The dish brings the rim closer to you, and the round 32 cm shape is easy to spin hand over hand during counter-steering.

Do I need gloves with the leather Drift rim?

Smooth leather tolerates bare hands and lets them slide during corrections. Overtake.gg users mostly see gloves as optional on leather rims, and Fanatec warns gloves can wear leather and stitching faster.

Is leather wear covered by warranty?

Fanatec states that extra wear on leather and stitching caused by gloves is not covered under warranty.

Drift rim or Static Shifter Paddles for drifting?

They solve different needs. The Drift rim gives the deep-dish wheel shape. Fanatec positions the ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles, which stay fixed behind the wheel, for rally and drifting where hands move around the rim.

Rim alone or the ClubSport Steering Wheel Drift V2?

The rim costs $189.99 at Fanatec US for owners with a hub. The ClubSport Steering Wheel Drift V2 combines it with a ClubSport Universal Hub V2 and is listed at $514.99. The rim is currently out of stock in Fanatec's EU stores.

Does the rim need software?

No. It is a passive rim; buttons and settings come from the hub and wheel base in the Fanatec App.
