Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel Flat 2 V2 for Xbox

275 mm polished aluminum wheel in red suede on the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel Flat 2 V2 for Xbox bundles the ClubSport Wheel Rim Flat 2 with the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox. The three-spoke 275 mm rim is polished, anodized silver aluminum covered in red synthetic suede, a color scheme Fanatec describes as a nod to classic Formula cars. The rim weighs 692 g and suits open-wheel racing and any car needing fast steering inputs.

Xbox compatibility. The hub's Microsoft chip makes any compatible Fanatec base, plus connected pedals, shifters and handbrakes, work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Some features may not be supported on Xbox and depend on game support for the Fanatec SDK.

Paddles and controls. Preinstalled ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC aluminum cage, neodymium magnets) with small and large plates; no clutch paddles out of the box (upgradable to the Podium Advanced Paddle Module). 16 integrated hub buttons, four adjustable and detachable 3-button clusters, a 7-way FunkySwitch, a Tuning Menu button and a three-digit LED display.

Modularity. Accepts all Fanatec rims and third-party rims with 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm bolt patterns. DataPort-C supports the Podium Button Module Endurance (sold separately; it does not fit the Flat 2 rim).

Compatibility. Requires a Fanatec wheel base (not included): Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite bases, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro. Works on Xbox, Windows PC and PlayStation with a PlayStation-licensed base. QR2 Wheel-Side included, packaged separately.

Driving style

Flat 2 V2 for Xbox shares the compact 275 mm aluminium formula shape of Flat 1 but wraps it in distinctive red synthetic suede on a polished silver rim, giving a grippy, high-contrast wheel for open-wheel racing. At 692 g it is light enough to keep force feedback detail intact, and the magnetic paddles deliver a precise shift in the F1 series, Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corsa Competizione and formula-series mods. The flat top keeps your sightline to the virtual dash clear. Best for formula and GT3 sprint racing with a small, fast rim; less suited for rally, drifting or anything needing a full round wheel for hand-over-hand steering.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The rim itself is polished, anodised aluminium with a red synthetic suede wrap, mounted on the aluminium ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, which carries the Xbox security chip for the whole system and is firmware-updatable. The hub accepts any 6 x 70 mm or 3 x 50 mm bolt-pattern rim and carries a CNC-machined aluminium magnetic paddle module with 3 mm anodised plates and neodymium magnets. Structural parts are metal; only the removable button clusters and FunkySwitch are polymer, keeping the wheel modular without feeling cheap.

Software

The Flat 2 V2 for Xbox runs entirely through the Fanatec base it mounts to, configured in the Fanatec App for Windows PC, which handles firmware for both the base and the Universal Hub, plus Tuning Menu and force feedback settings. The Xbox license lives in the wheel, so it is plug-and-play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One with any compatible Fanatec base, and it also works on PS4 and PS5 when paired with a PlayStation-licensed base. Inputs and telemetry use the Fanatec SDK in supported games, and SimHub can drive compatible displays with custom dashboards.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ClubSport Steering Wheel Flat 2 V2 for Xbox make my Fanatec base work on Xbox?

Yes. The ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox has a Microsoft compatibility chip, so any compatible Fanatec base (Podium DD1/DD2, ClubSport V2/V2.5, CSL Elite, CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro) and its connected pedals, shifter and handbrake work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Fanatec says hardware must run current firmware to keep Xbox compatibility.

Does it also work on PC and PlayStation?

Yes. On PC the wheel works with full functionality, and on PlayStation it works with a PlayStation-licensed Fanatec base, where features can be limited by the console and the game. Fanatec's hub comparison lists the Xbox hub as compatible with Windows PC, PlayStation (licensed base) and Xbox.

Will all buttons, LEDs and the display work on Xbox?

Not always. Fanatec says the Xbox OS limits wheels to roughly gamepad inputs, so extra buttons are either duplicates or have no function. Displays and LEDs gained SDK support in 2025 but only some games use it; the display still works for the Tuning Menu. Fanatec staff on the forum confirmed input limits are Microsoft's decision.

Is a 275 mm wheel too small for GT or road cars?

Fanatec positions the Flat 2 for open-wheel racing and cars that need fast steering inputs. A smaller rim needs less hand travel per degree but gives less leverage against strong force feedback; 320-330 mm rims are the more common choice for GT, road cars or drifting, and the modular hub lets you add one later.

Does it have clutch paddles, and how do the shifters feel?

No. The ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module has two magnetic shifters (3 mm aluminum plates, CNC aluminum cage, neodymium magnets) but no clutch paddles. Reviews describe a short, consistent, positive click without contact wear. Dual analog clutch paddles require the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module.

How is it different from the regular ClubSport Flat 2 V2?

The rim is the same; the difference is the hub. Fanatec staff explain the Xbox hub shares the regular hub's electronics, magnetic shifters and quick release, and adds an authentication chip and Xbox-style button caps. At Fanatec US the Xbox version costs $544.99 versus $514.99 for the PC/PlayStation version.

What warranty does Fanatec offer on this wheel?

Since June 3, 2025, Fanatec offers a three-year limited warranty on Fanatec-branded products bought from Fanatec or authorized retailers, plus a 30-day return window. Items in a bundle are covered individually, and wear, misuse or unauthorized modifications are excluded.

Is the bundle good value compared with buying the Xbox hub alone?

Fanatec US lists this bundle at $544.99 (regular $579.98), while the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox alone is $399.99. Reviewers suggest the hub alone mainly makes sense if you already own a rim or want a specific third-party one.

How do I adjust settings and keep the firmware up to date?

Press the Tuning button and use the FunkySwitch to change force feedback and hardware settings on the 3-digit display, which works on every platform including Xbox. Firmware is updated through the Fanatec driver on PC; Fanatec notes that current firmware is required to maintain Xbox compatibility.
