Driving style

The Sparco Formula replicates the Sparco F-10 A used in entry-level single-seaters. At 270 mm and 478 g it suits Formula 4, Formula Ford, Skip Barber and similar cars in iRacing, rFactor 2, Assetto Corsa and Automobilista 2, as well as classic open-wheelers, where quick, small inputs matter.

It fits ClubSport or Podium hub owners who want a light, licensed formula rim. Best for open-wheel and formula racing; less suited for drifting, rally and road cars.

Build quality

Premium build

An officially licensed Sparco replica in brushed, anodized aluminum with genuine Alcantara, and the lightest Fanatec rim at 478 g. It has no electronics. The licensed design puts it above standard ClubSport rims; Alcantara needs care against sweat.

Software

The Sparco Formula rim has no electronics and needs no software. Inputs come from the Fanatec hub or the optional Podium Button Module Rally, configured through the wheel base in the Fanatec App on Windows PC.

Platform support follows the hub and base: Xbox requires an Xbox hub such as the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox, and PlayStation requires a PlayStation-licensed base.

Frequently asked questions

Which hubs does the Sparco Formula rim fit?

Fanatec's US product page lists the ClubSport Universal Hub (all versions), Podium Hub and Podium Button Module Rally. A Fanatec hub is required on a Fanatec base.

Does it fit the CSL Universal Hub?

Sources differ. Fanatec's current US product page lists only ClubSport and Podium hubs. GTPlanet's launch coverage said all four Sparco rims work with every Fanatec hub, and an Overtake.gg commenter says the six-hole Formula rim works with the CSL hub. Check with Fanatec before buying for a CSL hub.

Which cars does the 270 mm Formula rim suit?

Fanatec says it suits open-wheel racing and cars needing fast inputs. GTPlanet notes the F-10 A is found in entry-level single-seaters, and an Overtake.gg commenter says the small size also suits older open-wheel cars like the Lotus 72.

How durable is the Alcantara?

Overtake.gg users report Alcantara outlasts suede but still degrades with sweat; one user ruined the suede on a Fanatec Formula rim by driving bare-handed. Many wear light gloves. Some commenters wished this rim used leather instead.

Is Alcantara wear covered by warranty?

Fanatec states extra wear on rim materials and stitching caused by gloves is not covered under warranty.

Sparco Formula or ClubSport Flat 1?

Both are compact formula rims. The Sparco Formula is a licensed 270 mm F-10 A replica in Alcantara at 478 g and fits the Podium Button Module Rally. The Flat 1 is 27.5 cm in suede at 692 g and fits CSL hubs too.

Is it fairly priced?

It costs $189.99 at Fanatec US. An Overtake.gg commenter considered Fanatec's Sparco replicas reasonably priced compared with the original Sparco wheels.

Can I add buttons and a display?

Yes. It is compatible with the Podium Button Module Rally (sold separately). Without it, inputs come from your hub.
