Fanatec DD Shaft Extension
150 mm CNC aluminum shaft extension with integrated QR electronics for the ClubSport DD and DD+
Description
The Fanatec DD Shaft Extension adds 150 mm between a ClubSport DD or ClubSport DD+ and the steering wheel. Its electronics are fully integrated, so the quick release connection is extended without any manual cable.
Why use it. The extra distance lets you place a monitor between the wheel base and the wheel, set low behind the rim, so the physical wheel blends with the virtual cockpit and the field of view can be set correctly. The extension is kept as slim as possible for this reason.
Build. Fully CNC-machined aluminum with a black-anodized finish, designed for a stiff connection between the base and the quick release with no loss of force feedback detail.
Compatibility. ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+, reusing the base's QR2 Base-Side (Type-F); works with all steering wheels compatible with those bases. Fanatec notes it is mainly aimed at custom aluminum-profile rigs; use on the GT or CSL Cockpit depends on the monitor and seat configuration.
Features & highlights
Driving style
The DD Shaft Extension is for drivers who care about a correct field of view: GT, endurance and open-wheel racers in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Le Mans Ultimate or Automobilista 2 who want the monitor low and close behind the wheel so on-screen and real cockpit line up. Fanatec says it suits custom aluminum-profile rigs where seat and monitor can be finely adjusted, and calls use on the GT or CSL Cockpit a special case.
Best for ClubSport DD or DD+ owners on an aluminum-profile rig chasing a realistic FOV; less suited for desk setups, CSL DD or Podium owners, or anyone whose monitor already sits behind the base.
Build quality
The extension is fully CNC-machined aluminum with a black-anodized surface and integrated electronics that carry the quick release connection, so there are no external cables. Fanatec designed it for a stiff connection between base and quick release with no loss of force feedback detail.
Software
No software is required. The integrated electronics simply extend the quick release connection, so the steering wheel, firmware updates and settings work exactly as without the extension through the Fanatec App for Windows and the base's Tuning Menu.
Platform support is unchanged: whatever the ClubSport DD or DD+ and wheel support on PC, PlayStation or Xbox continues to work.
