Thrustmaster EVO Analog Lever Set — Two Hall-effect analog paddles for the EVO Racing Hub: clutch, throttle or brake

Thrustmaster EVO Analog Lever Set

Two Hall-effect analog paddles for the EVO Racing Hub: clutch, throttle or brake

Description

The Thrustmaster EVO Analog Lever Set adds two analog paddles to the EVO Racing Hub, Thrustmaster's modular hub for the EVO Racing rims.

Sensors and axes. Each module uses a contactless Hall-effect sensor. The two axes can be assigned to clutch, throttle or brake, and they are configured directly from the wheel rim.

Clutch Assist. In dual-clutch mode, one paddle holds the bite point you set and the other releases fully, for consistent race starts in games that support it.

Build and fit. The modules have adjustable positions and metal paddles; a set of short paddles is included, and EVO paddles of other sizes and shapes also fit. The set weighs 680 g. It works with EVO Racing rims that use a 2.3-inch (58 mm) PCD: EVO Racing 32R and 31U Leather, and EVO Wheel Rim 31D, 31U and 32R Leather.

Platforms. PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, through the EVO Racing Hub on a Thrustmaster base such as the T818 or T598.

Driving style

The EVO Analog Lever Set suits EVO Racing Hub owners who race formula and GT cars with standing starts, such as F1 25, iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and Le Mans Ultimate, where a dual-clutch bite point makes launches repeatable. Mapped to throttle and brake, the paddles also allow hand controls. Konsolowe.info found the levers smooth and predictable and pointed to GT, rally and drift drivers as the main audience.

Best for advanced Thrustmaster EVO users who want analog clutch paddles for starts; less suited for casual or arcade players and anyone without the EVO Racing Hub.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The set uses metal paddles on two adjustable modules with contactless Hall-effect sensors, at 680 g for the pair, and installs with screws and a Torx wrench. Konsolowe.info found the motion smooth, with noticeable resistance and no play, and judged the price reasonable for the build quality.

Software

The axes and Clutch Assist are configured from the EVO Racing rim itself, with no separate app needed, and then mapped as clutch, throttle or brake in each game. Thrustmaster lists games that support each function on its support site. The EVO Racing Hub needs up-to-date base firmware (for example T300 V34 or T-GT V10), and T818 and T598 owners may need to update the add-on through Thrustmaster's PC tools.

On PlayStation and Xbox the set works through the EVO hub on a compatible Thrustmaster base, with no extra software.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the EVO Racing Hub to use the EVO Analog Lever Set?

Yes. The lever modules mount in the analog slots of the EVO Racing Hub, which is sold separately, and work with EVO Racing rims that use a 2.3-inch (58 mm) PCD: EVO Racing 32R and 31U Leather, and EVO Wheel Rim 31D, 31U and 32R Leather.

Which wheel bases does it work with?

It works wherever the EVO Racing Hub works. Thrustmaster's support page lists the T300 (firmware V34+), TX (V58.06+), T-GT / T-GT II (V10+), TS-XW Racer (V8.07+) and TS-PC Racer (V13+), with update guides for the T818 and T598. Reviews describe the EVO system as designed around the T818 but compatible with all Thrustmaster force feedback bases.

What can the analog paddles be used for?

Thrustmaster says the two axes can be assigned to clutch, throttle or brake from the rim, with a Clutch Assist dual-clutch mode for setting the slip point. Polish site Konsolowe.info also mentions assigning them to a handbrake; Thrustmaster's official list covers clutch, throttle and brake, and game support varies.

How do the EVO analog levers feel?

Konsolowe.info found the levers smooth, with resistance you feel right away, natural and predictable motion and no play. Detailed English-language reviews of the lever set were still scarce when this was verified.

Are Hall-effect sensors better for durability?

The modules use contactless Hall-effect sensors, which have no rubbing contacts like potentiometers. French site Superchicane notes this gives contactless precision and durability. The paddles themselves are metal.

How does it compare with Fanatec's analog clutch paddle modules?

Both add dual Hall-sensor analog paddles for clutch use, but they belong to different ecosystems: the EVO set fits only Thrustmaster's EVO Racing Hub, while Fanatec's Podium Advanced Paddle Module fits Fanatec wheels and hubs and also includes magnetic shift paddles. Choose based on the wheel system you already own.

Is the EVO Analog Lever Set worth $49.99?

Konsolowe.info considered the price reasonable for the build quality but recommended it mainly to enthusiasts, since arcade players are unlikely to use its full potential. It makes the most sense if you already own the EVO Racing Hub and race in games with standing starts or manual clutch.

Do I need to update firmware before using it?

Thrustmaster's EVO Racing Hub support page lists minimum firmware for each base and recommends updating to the latest version. For the T818 and T598, Thrustmaster provides guides to update EVO Racing add-ons through its PC tools. Manuals for the lever set are on the same support page.

Which platforms are supported?

Thrustmaster lists PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The set works through the EVO Racing Hub on a compatible Thrustmaster base, and supported games and features are listed on Thrustmaster's support site.
