Thrustmaster T-Chrono Paddles — Aluminum push-pull paddle shifters for the Ferrari SF1000 wheel add-on

Thrustmaster T-Chrono Paddles

Aluminum push-pull paddle shifters for the Ferrari SF1000 wheel add-on

Description

The Thrustmaster T-Chrono Paddles are replacement push-pull paddle shifters for the officially licensed Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition, in the same position as the stock paddles.

Switches. Gold-plated silver contacts lower contact resistance, and Thrustmaster quotes a bounce time under 5 ms for faster, crisper shifts.

Build. The paddles are 100% aluminum. The set measures 230 × 50 × 80 mm and weighs about 100 g.

Installation. They replace the original paddles with four screws and the included Allen key.

Compatibility. The SF1000 rim works on Thrustmaster bases on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and it is the rim included with the T818 Ferrari SF1000 Simulator. The paddles do not fit other Thrustmaster wheels.

Driving style

The T-Chrono Paddles are for owners of Thrustmaster's Ferrari SF1000 Formula wheel add-on who race single-seaters in F1 25, Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing or Automobilista 2, where fast, frequent upshifts and downshifts matter. Traxion.gg found their switches quicker, crisper and more satisfying than the stock paddles, which it called solid and precise but a little clunky.

Best for SF1000 owners who want a sharper, more consistent shift click; less suited for anyone without the SF1000 rim, or drivers happy with the stock paddles, since the upgrade changes switch feel rather than adding features.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The paddles are machined from aluminum, matching the build quality of the SF1000's stock paddles according to Traxion.gg, and use switches with gold-plated silver contacts and a bounce time under 5 ms. The set weighs about 100 g and bolts on with four screws. There are no adjustable parts such as magnets or springs.

Software

The T-Chrono Paddles need no driver or app of their own. They act as the SF1000 rim's standard upshift and downshift buttons, so they work wherever the rim works: on PC through Thrustmaster's drivers for the wheel base, and on PlayStation and Xbox through a compatible Thrustmaster base, with shift mapping done in each game.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheels are the T-Chrono Paddles compatible with?

Thrustmaster designed them only for the Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition, as alternative paddles in the same position as the stock ones. They do not fit other Thrustmaster rims. Thrustmaster also sells a Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 T-Chrono Edition, so check which SF1000 version you own before buying.

Do they fit the SF1000 wheel included with the T818 Ferrari SF1000 Simulator?

The T818 Ferrari SF1000 Simulator ships with the Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition, which is the rim these paddles are designed for. Thrustmaster's paddle page does not mention the T818 bundle by name, so the fit is based on the rim, not the base.

How hard is it to install the T-Chrono Paddles?

They replace the stock paddles with four attachment screws, and an Allen key and quick start guide are included. No soldering or extra cables are needed.

How do they feel compared with the stock SF1000 paddles?

Traxion.gg described the stock paddles as solid and precise but a little clunky, and found the T-Chrono switches quicker, crisper and more satisfying to hear. Thrustmaster quotes a bounce time under 5 ms thanks to gold-plated silver contacts.

Are the T-Chrono Paddles metal?

Yes. Thrustmaster lists them as 100% aluminum, and Traxion.gg says they match the machined aluminum build quality of the stock SF1000 paddles. The set weighs about 100 g.

T-Chrono Paddles vs stock SF1000 paddles: is the upgrade worth $79.99?

The material is the same aluminum, so the difference is the switch: faster bounce time and a crisper click. Traxion.gg preferred them over the stock set. Drivers already happy with the stock paddles gain no new functions, since the T-Chrono set adds no extra buttons or adjustments.

Which platforms do the T-Chrono Paddles work on?

They work wherever the SF1000 rim works: PC (Windows 10), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, through a compatible Thrustmaster wheel base. Retailers such as Advanced Sim Racing list the same platform support.

Do the T-Chrono Paddles need software or a firmware update?

No. They use the SF1000 rim's existing shift inputs, so there is no separate app, and shift mapping is handled by the game as with the stock paddles.

Where do I get support or warranty service for the T-Chrono Paddles?

The box includes a warranty information flyer, and Thrustmaster handles support through its support website. They are sold directly on Thrustmaster's US eShop.
