Thrustmaster Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition

1:1 Ferrari SF1000 F1 replica with 4.3" display, 25 buttons and analog paddles

Description

The Thrustmaster Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition is an officially licensed 1:1 replica of the wheel from Ferrari's 2020 SF1000 Formula 1 car, made for Thrustmaster wheel bases.

Display and lights. A 4.3-inch IPS LCD shows up to 69 items of native telemetry, with 15 RPM LEDs and 6 flag LEDs. Telemetry can also reach the wheel over Wi-Fi.

Controls. Up to 25 action buttons, including 7 encoders and 11 buttons with official markings. Two customizable analog paddles on the back work as clutch, throttle/brake or other axes, and interchangeable magnetic push-pull aluminum paddles handle shifting. The optional T-Chrono Paddles give a crisper click.

Build. A 3 mm, 21-layer carbon fiber faceplate, textured rubber grips and aluminum paddles. It measures 270 × 85 × 170 mm and weighs 1.3 kg.

Compatibility. It fits Thrustmaster T-Series bases such as the T300, TX, T-GT II, TS-XW and TS-PC Racer on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. On the T818 and T598 it uses the Quick Release Adapter or the permanent Quick Release Upgrade SF1000.

Driving style

The SF1000 is built for Formula 1 and open-wheel racing in the official F1 games, Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing, where its encoders, analog paddles and display mirror a real F1 cockpit. Traxion.gg found the display most useful in F1 titles, with limited native support elsewhere, and praised its comfort and convincing F1 feel.

Best for F1 fans on a Thrustmaster base who want a licensed replica with a screen; less suited for rally, drift or road-car driving that needs a round rim and large steering angles.

Build quality

Premium build

The faceplate is 3 mm, 21-layer carbon fiber with aluminum paddle shifters and textured rubber grips, at 1.3 kg. Traxion.gg describes a mix of carbon fibre, aluminium, plastic and rubber that feels premium and comfortable, though the buttons need a firm press.

Software

The SF1000 has no separate app: it is set up through the Thrustmaster drivers and control panel of the base on Windows, or My Thrustmaster Panel on the T818 and T598, which also handle firmware updates. The display menu lets you enable Wi-Fi UDP telemetry and adjust LED and screen brightness.

On PlayStation and Xbox it works plug-and-play through a compatible Thrustmaster base. Native display data is strongest in the F1 games; SimHub is a common companion for other titles on PC.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheel bases is the SF1000 compatible with?

Thrustmaster lists the TS-XW, T-GT, T300, TX and TS-PC bases. On the T818 and T598 it needs the Quick Release Adapter (one comes with the T818) or the permanent Quick Release Upgrade SF1000, which Thrustmaster says takes about 30 minutes to install.

Does the SF1000 work on PlayStation and Xbox?

Yes, through a compatible Thrustmaster base: PS4/PS5 with T300 or T-GT bases, and Xbox One/Series with TX or TS-XW bases. Thrustmaster lists PC (Windows 10), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Which games show data on the SF1000 display?

The 4.3-inch screen shows up to 69 items of native telemetry. Traxion.gg found the integration strongest in the F1 games and noted the display does little in titles without native support, although all buttons remain mappable. On PC, Wi-Fi UDP telemetry can be enabled from the wheel's menu.

What are the analog paddles on the back for?

The two rear analog paddles are configurable from a central dial. By default they act as throttle and brake, so the wheel can be used without pedals, and they can also work as a clutch. Traxion.gg found them surprisingly good to use.

How do the stock shift paddles feel?

The included magnetic push-pull aluminum paddles are solid but a little clunky, according to Traxion.gg. Thrustmaster sells T-Chrono Paddles as an upgrade with a faster, crisper switch, and an SF1000 T-Chrono Edition comes with them fitted.

SF1000 vs SF-25: which should I buy?

The SF-25 replicates Ferrari's 2025 wheel, comes with T-Chrono Paddles and uses the next-gen quick release for the T818 and T598. The SF1000 has magnetic paddles plus two analog paddles and fits older T-Series bases natively. Both list a 4.3-inch display, 25 buttons and 7 encoders.

Is the SF1000 good value at $429.99?

Traxion.gg called it good value for its build quality and a near-perfect pick for F1 enthusiasts, while noting limited display support outside F1 games and a steep learning curve. It makes the most sense for drivers focused on Formula cars.

How durable is the SF1000 build?

It uses a 3 mm, 21-layer carbon fiber faceplate, aluminum paddles and rubber grips, at 1.3 kg. Traxion.gg describes a carbon, aluminium, plastic and rubber construction that feels premium; spare parts such as paddles, caps and back doors are sold on Thrustmaster's US eShop.

Where do I get firmware and support?

Firmware updates are installed through the base's Thrustmaster drivers on PC (My Thrustmaster Panel for T818 and T598). Manuals, firmware and troubleshooting guides are on Thrustmaster's support site, and the box includes warranty information.
