Driving style

The 499P Centenary Winner Edition is aimed at endurance and hypercar fans racing Le Mans Ultimate, iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione on a T818 or T598, where the backlit controls, analog paddles and 140-parameter display suit long stints at night. BoxThisLap noted the high price and the 499-unit cap make it a collector's item rather than a mainstream wheel.

Best for collectors and Thrustmaster direct drive owners who want a licensed Le Mans hypercar replica; less suited for budget buyers or anyone who just needs a capable GT or Formula wheel.

Build quality

Premium build

The 499P uses a molded carbon fiber back cover, carbon fiber shift paddles, metal analog paddles, aluminum thumb encoders and a backlit front plate, and comes with a steel powered display stand. The full package weighs 5.5 kg according to Thrustmaster. Independent hands-on build reviews were not yet available when this page was written.

Software

Set up and firmware updates go through My Thrustmaster Panel on Windows with a T818 or T598, with no separate app. On PS5 and Xbox it works through a compatible T598 base. Display telemetry depends on game support; the bundled Le Mans Ultimate key points to its main intended title.
