MOZA Ford Mustang GTD Wheel — Officially licensed 330 mm D-shaped wheel with 2.99" screen, toggles and Hall-effect clutch paddles

MOZA Ford Mustang GTD Wheel

Officially licensed 330 mm D-shaped wheel with 2.99" screen, toggles and Hall-effect clutch paddles

Description

The MOZA Ford Mustang GTD Wheel is an officially licensed Ford sim racing wheel styled after the track-focused Mustang GTD. It is not a replica of the road car's wheel: MOZA kept the Mustang look (Ford blue 12 o'clock marker, GTD stitching, polished Mustang emblem) and added the controls a sim needs.

Rim and build. A 330 mm D-shaped rim with microfiber leather grips sits on an aluminum alloy frame with carbon fiber-reinforced composite face and back plates. Overtake.gg measured about 2.2 kg with the quick release.

Controls. 12 backlit front buttons and 2 rear buttons, four 12-position rotary encoders with RGB indicators, two seven-way switches, two clickable thumb wheels and two two-way toggle switches that can act as buttons, switch torque curve settings or launch PC applications.

Paddles. Anodized aluminum Hall-effect magnetic shift paddles plus dual Hall-effect clutch paddles. MOZA rates them for one million actuations.

Display and lights. A 2.99" HD screen with Mustang-themed dashboards, 10 RPM LEDs and 6 flag LEDs, all RGB.

Compatibility. It mounts on every current MOZA wheel base through the aluminum quick release with a conductive slip ring, so no wireless module or extra cable is needed. Its RJ11 port lets it run on third-party bases or connect directly to a PC with the MOZA Universal Hub Kit. MOZA lists PC as the platform.

Driving style

The Mustang GTD wheel suits drivers who want a road and GT car feel with lots of mappable controls: Assetto Corsa mods (including the Mustang GTD in No Hesi), AC EVO's free-roam style driving, TCR and touring cars, GT3 in ACC or iRacing, and ETS2 with the Multi-function Stalks. Overtake.gg recommends a MOZA base of roughly 10 Nm or more, such as the R9, for its 2.2 kg weight.

Best for Ford and Mustang fans and casual to intermediate PC racers who value inputs and styling; less suited for dedicated Le Mans Ultimate league racers, rally-only drivers who want something lighter, and drifters who prefer a fully round wheel.

Build quality

Mid-range build

MOZA uses an aluminum alloy frame, carbon fiber-reinforced composite face and back plates, microfiber leather grips and anodized aluminum Hall-effect paddles rated for one million actuations. Reviewers praise the grips and display but note a slightly loose shifter mount, plastic rotary caps and center cover, and paddles that feel light for aluminum.

Software

The wheel is configured in MOZA Pit House on Windows PC: button and switch mapping, toggle modes (button, torque curve or application control), RGB lighting and brightness, RPM and flag LEDs, and the 2.99" screen, with Mustang-themed dashboards, a full dash editor and community imports.

MOZA lists PC as the platform and no console support is advertised. Force feedback comes from the MOZA base; on third-party bases the wheel connects to the PC through the MOZA Universal Hub Kit.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MOZA Mustang GTD wheel a replica of the real car's steering wheel?

No. The real Mustang GTD wheel is built around infotainment and cruise control and has no screen, rotary encoders or clutch paddles. MOZA kept the Mustang styling (Ford blue top marker, stitching, emblem) but built a full sim wheel; Overtake.gg agrees this is more useful in a rig.

Which wheel bases is the Mustang GTD wheel compatible with?

MOZA says it works with all currently available MOZA wheel bases via its aluminum quick release with slip ring. For third-party bases, its RJ11 port connects to the PC through the MOZA Universal Hub Kit, sold separately. Overtake.gg suggests a MOZA base of around 10 Nm or more, such as the R9.

Does the Mustang GTD wheel work on Xbox or PlayStation?

MOZA only mentions PC, and reviewers found no console support listed. Treat it as a PC wheel.

What can the toggle switches do?

The two two-way toggles can work as on/off buttons, switch torque curve settings, or launch and close PC applications, configured in MOZA Pit House. Overtake.gg notes toggle switches like these are rare on sim wheels.

How do the paddles feel?

MOZA lists anodized aluminum Hall-effect magnetic shifters and dual clutch paddles rated for one million actuations. Overtake.gg rates actuation and throw as mid-range and wanted them quieter and crisper; SimRacingCockpit.gg found them very light, almost plastic-feeling.

Are there build quality concerns?

Reviewers report a slightly loose shifter mount with some play, plastic rotary encoder caps and a plasticky center cover. The display and microfiber grips are praised.

Mustang GTD wheel or MOZA CS Pro?

Both share the 2.99" screen, Hall-effect paddles and MOZA quick release. The Mustang GTD adds a D-shaped 330 mm rim, 12 front buttons (vs 8) and toggle switches, plus the Ford license, for about $100 more. Overtake.gg calls the CS Pro incredibly close, and SimRacingCockpit.gg prefers it for serious sim racing.

Is the Mustang GTD wheel worth $429?

Overtake.gg scored it 4.25/5 and found it the priciest among similar round and D-shaped wheels starting around $330, but the only one combining a D-shape, built-in display and official car license. It suits Mustang fans; buyers focused on value may prefer the CS Pro.

What warranty does the Mustang GTD wheel have?

MOZA's store lists up to 24 months of warranty protection and a 14-day return policy.
