Fanatec ClubSport Pedals V3 Brake Performance Kit

Elastomer spring kit to tune brake travel and stiffness on ClubSport Pedals V3

Description

The Fanatec ClubSport Pedals V3 Brake Performance Kit lets you tune the load cell brake of the ClubSport Pedals V3 for a firmer, more race-car-like pressure feel.

How it works. Fanatec explains that the body memorizes muscle tension better than foot position, which is why real brakes are pressure-based and race cars have almost no travel. The kit's elastomer springs reduce travel and raise resistance.

Combinations. Red and green Eladur elastomer springs (made in Germany) in Ø13 and Ø12 mm give 8 resistance and travel options. The optional PU foam spring adds a lighter initial force, doubling the combinations to 16. The springs are easy to lubricate and rated for well over 1 million cycles.

Notes. Requires ClubSport Pedals V3 or V3 inverted (not included). Installation needs partial disassembly of the pedals and some technical skill. With the kit, the preload screw can only be used to remove mechanical play.

Driving style

The Brake Performance Kit firms up the ClubSport Pedals V3 brake, which Fanatec describes as relatively soft as stock. Shorter travel and higher resistance help trail braking and consistent pressure in iRacing, Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, ACC and F1 25, especially in formula cars where real brakes have almost no travel.

It suits intermediate and competitive racers with a settled braking style. Best for formula and GT drivers who want a stiffer, more precise brake; less important for newcomers and casual racers, who may prefer the more forgiving stock setup.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The springs use Eladur elastomer made in Germany, rated for well over 1 million cycles, with a PU foam option and lithium grease for maintenance. It is a simple, durable mechanical kit; its quality rests on the ClubSport Pedals V3 it is installed in.

Software

The kit has no electronics and needs no software. After installation, recalibrate the brake and adjust its force settings for the ClubSport Pedals V3 in the Fanatec App or Control Panel on Windows PC, or in the Tuning Menu of a compatible wheel.

It works on any platform the ClubSport Pedals V3 support.

Frequently asked questions

Which pedals does the Brake Performance Kit fit?

Only the brake of the ClubSport Pedals V3 and ClubSport Pedals V3 inverted. The pedals are not included.

Is installation difficult?

It requires partially disassembling the pedals and some technical skill, according to Fanatec. Sim Racing Garage's review also covers recalibrating the pedals afterwards. Follow the Quick Guide and manual in Fanatec's downloads.

How does it change the brake feel?

It shortens travel and raises resistance for a firmer, pressure-based feel. Fanatec's guide says it helps trail braking and suits formula-style cars, since the stock V3 brake is relatively soft.

How many setups can I make?

Red (softer) and green (harder) springs in Ø13 and Ø12 mm give 8 combinations, and the PU foam spring for a lighter initial force doubles that to 16.

Does it affect the preload screw?

Yes. Fanatec notes the preload screw cannot be used to its maximum with the kit; it is limited to removing mechanical play.

How long do the elastomers last?

Fanatec rates them for well over 1 million cycles; they are made from Eladur in Germany and easy to lubricate with the included lithium grease.

Do I need it, or is the stock V3 brake enough?

Fanatec's own guide says it is not a must-have: competitive and intermediate racers with a settled braking style benefit most, while newcomers may find the stock setup more forgiving.

Is it good value?

It costs $39.99 at Fanatec US. Sim Racing Garage listed it at $29.95 at launch; it remains a low-cost way to fine-tune a premium pedal set.

Where do I get installation help?

Fanatec provides a Quick Guide and manual in the product's download section; for problems after installation, contact Fanatec support.
