Fanatec GT Cockpit Keyboard Tray

Swing-arm keyboard and mouse tray with built-in 100x100 VESA for the ClubSport GT Cockpit

Description

The Fanatec GT Cockpit Keyboard Tray puts a keyboard and mouse within reach while seated in the ClubSport GT Cockpit.

Articulating arm. The tray sits on an articulated swing arm so you can position it exactly where you need it, or swing it out of the way, with an integrated handle for easy placement. It works on either the left or right side of the cockpit.

Large surface. The tray (640 x 200 x 20 mm) accommodates most keyboard and mouse combos.

VESA option. The arm has a built-in 100x100 mm VESA mount, so it can carry an extra screen or other peripherals instead of the keyboard.

Requirement. It is only compatible with the ClubSport GT Cockpit when combined with a GT Cockpit Shifter Mount (left or right, sold separately). Steel and aluminum construction with black powder coating.

Driving style

The GT Cockpit Keyboard Tray is for PC sim racers who use the ClubSport GT Cockpit as their main desk too, or who often need a keyboard and mouse mid-session: iRacing and Le Mans Ultimate setup changes, ACC and rFactor 2 menus, chat in league racing, or streaming software. OC Racing calls it expensive but very practical for drivers who use the rig for both racing and general PC use, while Boosted Media found it relatively basic in execution.

Best for PC racers who type or click often between sessions and already own (or plan) a GT Shifter Mount; less suited for console players or drivers who only need to store a keyboard.

Build quality

Mid-range build

Steel and aluminum construction with black powder coating, an articulating arm and a 640 x 200 mm tray with integrated handle. OC Racing finds it practical; Boosted Media rates the execution as relatively basic for the price.

Software

The Keyboard Tray is a passive mount and needs no software.

The built-in VESA mount can carry a secondary screen, which is configured in the operating system like any monitor.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to mount the GT Cockpit Keyboard Tray?

A ClubSport GT Cockpit plus a GT Cockpit Shifter Mount on the left or right side (sold separately). Fanatec states the tray is only compatible when combined with the Shifter Mount.

Will a full-size keyboard and mouse fit?

The tray measures 640 x 200 mm, and Fanatec says it accommodates most keyboard and mouse combos. Fanatec's GT accessories article also describes it as wide enough for a full-size keyboard and mouse.

Can I mount a monitor on the keyboard tray arm?

Yes. The arm has a built-in 100x100 mm VESA mount, so it can hold an extra screen or other peripherals instead of the tray.

Is the GT Cockpit Keyboard Tray worth it?

Opinions are mixed. OC Racing calls it expensive but very practical for using the rig for both racing and general PC work; Boosted Media found it relatively basic in execution and says the extras don't fully justify the markup.

How does it compare with the CSL Cockpit Keyboard Holder?

The CSL Keyboard Holder is a pair of storage hooks for the CSL Cockpit. The GT Keyboard Tray is a usable typing surface on an articulating arm, for the ClubSport GT Cockpit only.

Does it need any software?

No. It is a passive mechanical accessory.
