Logitech G RS50 Base (PC)

8 Nm direct drive wheel base with TRUEFORCE, PC version

Description

The Logitech G RS50 Base (PC) is a direct drive wheel base with up to 8 Nm of peak torque and Logitech's TRUEFORCE haptics, which turn in-game physics and audio data into high-frequency feedback at the rim.

Hardware. The base measures 161 × 185 × 180 mm and weighs 4.4 kg. Its aluminum is made with low-carbon (renewable-energy) production, and Logitech lists 74% certified recycled plastic in the plastic parts. Rotation goes up to 2700°, and an onboard OLED display lets you change settings such as FFB filter, dampener, TRUEFORCE audio level and steering angle without opening software.

Mounting. Four T-nuts and bolts are included for rig mounting; the Table Clamp for RS50 is sold separately for desks.

Ecosystem. The base takes any RS or PRO Series wheel through the RS Wheel Hub or the PRO GT D Rim, and the RS QR Adapter for aftermarket rims on PC. With the Logitech G Racing Adapter you can keep G Series pedals and the Driving Force Shifter. This PC version does not work on PlayStation; pairing it with the Xbox version of the RS Wheel Hub adds Xbox support.

Driving style

The RS50 is a first step into direct drive for drivers coming from a G29, G920 or G923. Its 8 Nm and TRUEFORCE detail suit GT3 and touring cars in Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and Automobilista 2, and Tom's Guide calls it a strong mid-range option between beginner and intermediate racers. Formula and rally fans can pair it with the RS Formula or RS Round wheels.

Best for PC racers moving up from gear-driven wheels who want a compact desk-friendly DD base; less suited for heavy GT rims or drivers who want 12 Nm+ headroom, where the PRO DD11 or bigger bases fit better.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The base uses a low-carbon aluminum housing and recycled plastics around a direct drive motor, at 4.4 kg. Reviewers describe the RS line as premium-feeling for the price; Logitech notes the casing can get warm on long full-force sessions and stays at or below about 60°C.

Software

The RS50 is configured in Logitech G HUB on Windows 10/11 (force feedback, TRUEFORCE, rotation, dampener, filter, LIGHTSYNC on the hub) and through its OLED display. A PRO compatibility mode makes it appear as the PRO Racing Wheel in games that already support it. Reviewers note G HUB lacks advanced options such as slew rate. SimHub and Crew Chief run alongside on PC.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PC version of the RS50 Base work on PlayStation or Xbox?

No PlayStation support on the PC version (941-000257); the PlayStation/PC version costs $100 more. Logitech says Xbox support comes from the steering side: pairing the base with the Xbox/PC RS Wheel Hub makes the combination Xbox and PC compatible.

Is a table clamp included with the RS50 Base?

No. The base ships with four T-nuts and bolts for rig mounting; the Table Clamp for RS50 ($29.99) is sold separately for desk use. The RS50 System bundle does include a clamp.

Can I keep my G29/G923 pedals and shifter with the RS50?

Yes. Logitech says the Racing Adapter lets you use G Series pedals and the Driving Force Shifter with the RS50 Base.

How much tuning does G HUB offer for the RS50?

G HUB and the OLED display cover strength, TRUEFORCE level, rotation, dampener and FFB filter, plus a PRO compatibility mode. Tom's Guide found it could not adjust slew rate or friction, so tuning is more basic than some rivals.

Does the RS50 get hot?

Getting warm on long sessions at full force is normal; a settings guide citing Logitech says the casing stays at or below about 60°C and suggests letting it cool before removing the rim.
