Trak Racer TR120S V2 Racing Simulator

120 ร— 40 mm aluminum profile cockpit for 30 Nm+ direct drive

Description

The Trak Racer TR120S V2 is a full-size aluminum profile sim racing cockpit built from thicker-walled 120 ร— 40 mm extrusion, anodized black. Trak Racer rates it for wheel bases of 30 Nm and above, and it replaces the earlier TR120.

Mounting. Side-mounted wheel uprights with heavy-duty brackets carry Trak Racer's TR-One wheel mounting system, with options for a wheel plate, Fanatec DD side mount, universal front mount or Asetek front mount. The pedal mount can be a pre-drilled TR-One plate with a fine-tune slide or an aluminum profile with heel plate.

Size and adjustment. The assembled rig measures 660 ร— 1445 mm and the frame weighs 37 kg. Seat slider rails and dust strips are included; the shifter mount is optional, and more than 30 accessories are available, from monitor stands to flight sim mounts.

Smaller option. The TR80S uses 80 ร— 40 mm profile for bases up to 16 Nm.

Driving style

The TR120S V2 is built for drivers running, or planning to run, high-torque direct drive bases such as a Fanatec Podium DD, Simucube 2 or MOZA R21/R25 Ultra. Its 120 mm profile and wide body stay stable under heavy steering loads and load cell or active brakes in GT3, prototype and Formula cars in iRacing, ACC, rFactor 2 and Le Mans Ultimate, and its many accessories cover triple screens and flight sim setups.

Best for serious sim racers who want a long-term, upgradeable profile rig with room for any base; less suited for small rooms or entry-level wheels, where the TR80S or TR8 PRO V2 cost less.

Build quality

Premium build

The TR120S V2 uses thicker-walled 120 ร— 40 mm anodized aluminum profile with heavy-duty brackets and side-mounted uprights. TweakTown found no flex at the seat under heavy braking and called the pedal and wheel mounting components robust and heavy; small issues were loose cover caps and light scuffs.

Software

The TR120S V2 is a mechanical cockpit and needs no software or drivers. It works with any platform the mounted wheel base, pedals and shifters support, including PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Trak Racer provides the assembly manual online via QR code and publishes mount compatibility lists for wheel bases and pedals.

Frequently asked questions

Is the TR120S V2 the replacement for the TR120?

Yes. Trak Racer's current 120 mm profile rig is the TR120S V2 with seat slider kit, listed at $570 on its US store. When checked, the store showed stock due in late November 2026, with orders fulfilled as stock arrives.

Which wheel bases fit the TR120S V2?

Trak Racer rates it for 30 Nm+ and offers four TR-One wheel mount options: wheel plate, Fanatec DD side mount, universal front mount and Asetek front mount. TweakTown notes the base kit's deck fits Fanatec DD, and other bases may need a different middle section, so check Trak Racer's compatibility list.

How rigid is the TR120S V2?

TweakTown detected no flex at the rear of the seat under heavy braking and had no concerns with a 9 Nm base, scoring the rig 90% overall. The 120 x 40 mm profile is what lets Trak Racer rate it for 30 Nm+.

What are the common complaints about the TR120S V2?

TweakTown flagged unclear part codes on the boxes, cover caps that pop off easily, only ten cable tie-downs and light scuffs on uprights. None affected performance.

TR120S V2 vs TR80S vs TR8 PRO V2?

From Trak Racer's chart: TR80S (80 x 40 mm, 660 x 1200 mm, up to 16 Nm), TR8 PRO (2-inch tube, 600 x 1300 mm, up to 25 Nm) and TR120S (120 x 40 mm, 660 x 1445 mm, 30 Nm+). The TR120S is the one to choose for high-torque bases and long-term upgrades.

Is the TR120S V2 worth the price?

The US frame is $570. TweakTown's review package cost more with a seat and extras, and the reviewer still recommended it, saying the initial cost is outweighed by the design, build quality and modularity.
