Fanatec GT Cockpit Triple Monitor Expansion Kit (Black)

Turns the GT Cockpit Monitor Stand into a triple setup for three 32" to 55" screens, in matte black

Description

The Fanatec GT Cockpit Triple Monitor Expansion Kit (Black) upgrades the GT Cockpit Monitor Stand (required, sold separately) to a triple-screen setup for more peripheral vision.

Screens. Supports three monitors from 32" up to 55" TVs, VESA 100x100 to 400x400 mm, with a maximum of 18 kg (40 lbs) per screen. Fanatec recommends a maximum of 34" for 1000R curved screens. The stand's overhead mount still takes up to a 34" ultrawide (VESA 100x100).

Alignment. Angled outer arms set the field of view, and every VESA mount has fine-adjustment mechanisms to line up bezels.

Construction. A steel mounting bar and outer arms fixed to the main stand, plus an extra power brick holder and cable management materials. Finished in matte black.

Assembled size: 925 x 2230 x 1380 mm (L x W x H), 1745 mm tall with the overhead mount.

Driving style

The GT Cockpit Triple Monitor Expansion Kit is for PC sim racers who want the peripheral vision of triple screens around a ClubSport GT Cockpit. Fanatec pitches it for iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, RaceRoom, F1, rFactor 2 and DiRT Rally, and triples are most valuable in wheel-to-wheel GT, touring car and open-wheel racing, where seeing cars alongside matters. Because it builds on the freestanding GT Monitor Stand, the screens stay isolated from direct drive vibration.

Best for PC racers with a dedicated sim room and a GT Cockpit Monitor Stand; less suited for console players (who generally cannot run true triples) or small rooms, given the 2.23 m width.

Build quality

Mid-range build

Steel tubing and a steel mounting bar with angled outer arms fixed to the GT Cockpit Monitor Stand, plus fine-adjust VESA mounts and a matte black finish. OC Racing describes the quality of Fanatec's GT monitor stands as excellent and well matched to the cockpit, while critics point to the price of the add-ons.

Software

The expansion kit is a passive mount and needs no drivers. Triple-screen rendering is set up on PC in the GPU driver (NVIDIA Surround or AMD Eyefinity) and in-game triple-screen settings in titles such as iRacing, ACC and Automobilista 2.

Console games generally do not support true triple-screen output.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the GT Cockpit Monitor Stand for the Triple Monitor Expansion Kit?

Yes. The kit's outer arms attach to the existing GT Cockpit Monitor Stand, which Fanatec says is required. Budget for both if you are starting from scratch.

What size and weight of screens can it hold?

Three screens from 32" to 55", VESA 100x100 to 400x400 mm, with a maximum of 18 kg (40 lbs) each. Fanatec recommends no larger than 34" for 1000R curved screens.

How much space does a triple GT stand need?

Fully built, Fanatec lists 925 mm length, 2230 mm width and 1380 mm height (1745 mm with the overhead mount), so plan for over 2.2 m of width.

Is the GT triple stand stable?

Fanatec uses a steel mounting bar and fixed outer arms on the freestanding stand, so the screens are not shaken by the rig. OC Racing describes the quality of Fanatec's GT stands as excellent and well integrated with the cockpit's look.

Can I still use an overhead screen with triples?

Yes. Fanatec lists an overhead monitor up to a 34" ultrawide (VESA 100x100) alongside the triple configuration.

Is the triple kit good value?

At $174.99 the kit itself is moderately priced, but it requires the GT Cockpit Monitor Stand. Reviewers such as OC Racing say Fanatec's GT Cockpit add-ons are generally pricier than comparable Trak Racer or Next Level Racing options.

How do I set up triple screens in software?

The kit needs no software. On PC, combine the screens with NVIDIA Surround or AMD Eyefinity and enable each game's triple-screen view; consoles generally do not support true triples.
