Fanatec CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder

Rig-mounted single-screen holder that bolts directly to the CSL Cockpit frame

Description

The Fanatec CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder attaches a single display directly to the CSL Cockpit. Because it bolts to the rig, the screen stays in exactly the same position relative to the wheel every session.

Adjustment. Height and lateral adjustment let you set the screen at eye level and centered behind the wheel. Fanatec includes extra support rods to keep large ultrawide monitors stable, even with a high-torque direct drive base.

Screen support. Fanatec says it supports most common monitor sizes; its CSL Cockpit monitor guide covers 100x100 mm VESA monitors and cites examples from 32" up to 49" ultrawides.

Expansion. The CSL Cockpit Shelf (sold separately) mounts to the holder to store a PC or console.

Driving style

The CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder is for CSL Cockpit owners who race on a single monitor or ultrawide and want the tidiest, most compact setup. With the screen bolted to the rig, it never drifts out of alignment, which suits sim racers in small rooms who also move the rig around. It works for any discipline on one screen, from GT racing in Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing to Gran Turismo 7 and Forza Motorsport on console.

Best for space-limited single-screen setups on the CSL Cockpit; less suited for very large TVs, triple screens, or drivers running high-torque bases who want the screen fully isolated from rig vibration, where the freestanding CSL Cockpit Monitor Stand is the better pick.

Build quality

Mid-range build

A steel bracket assembly designed to bolt to the CSL Cockpit tubing, with height and lateral adjustment and extra support rods to steady large screens. It shares the CSL Cockpit's entry-to-mid tier construction rather than the heavier GT Cockpit hardware.

Software

The CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder is a passive mechanical accessory and needs no drivers or software on PC or console.

Fanatec provides a Quick Guide for assembly; any monitor with a compatible VESA pattern can be used.

Frequently asked questions

Is the CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder stable enough for a heavy ultrawide?

Fanatec includes support rods specifically to keep large ultrawides stable with high-torque direct drive bases. OC Racing ran a heavy Samsung Odyssey super-ultrawide on Fanatec's CSL monitor mount and reported it handled the weight without trouble, with substantial height and tilt adjustment.

Monitor Holder or Monitor Stand for the CSL Cockpit?

The Holder bolts to the rig, is more compact and keeps the screen locked to the wheel position. The Stand is freestanding, isolates the screen from vibration and handles up to 60". Fanatec recommends the Holder for space-limited builds and the Stand for more flexibility.

Does the CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder fit other cockpits?

No. Fanatec designed it specifically for the CSL Cockpit frame. For other rigs, the freestanding CSL Cockpit Monitor Stand is the Fanatec option that does not depend on the cockpit.

What VESA pattern and screen sizes does it take?

Fanatec's CSL Cockpit monitor guide says its mounts are designed for 100x100 mm VESA monitors and cites 32" and 49" ultrawide examples. Fanatec does not publish a maximum weight, so check heavy curved screens against the guide.

Can I add a PC or console shelf to the Monitor Holder?

Yes. The CSL Cockpit Shelf (sold separately) requires either the Monitor Holder or the freestanding Monitor Stand and takes cases up to 265 x 495 mm.

Is the CSL Cockpit Monitor Holder good value?

It is the cheaper of Fanatec's two CSL screen mounts ($159.99 vs $299.99 for the freestanding stand in the US). Reviewers generally rate Fanatec's CSL monitor mounting as capable but slightly pricey for what it is.

Does the Monitor Holder need software?

No. It is a passive mechanical mount with no electronics.
