MOZA E-Stop Switch

Aluminum emergency stop for MOZA wheel bases with FFB-off and full power-cut modes

Description

The MOZA E-Stop Switch (RS063) is an emergency stop for MOZA direct drive wheel bases, with an aluminum alloy button and housing.

Three connection modes.

  • USB: connected directly to the PC, pressing the switch disables force feedback; releasing it restores force feedback.
  • DASH port (RJ11): connected to the base's DASH port, it works the same way: force feedback off while pressed, back on when released.
  • E-STOP port (RJ9): connected to the base's E-STOP port, pressing it cuts all power to the base. After release, the base must be switched back on with its power button, and some games may need a restart to restore force feedback.

Use. It adds a quick way to stop the wheel on high-torque bases, and is useful on shared or commercial rigs. MOZA does not publish a list of bases with an E-STOP port; the DASH and USB modes cover setups without one.

Driving style

The E-Stop Switch is a safety accessory rather than a performance upgrade. It suits owners of high-torque MOZA bases such as the R16, R21 or R25 Ultra, families with children near the rig, and shared or commercial simulators where someone needs to stop the wheel instantly, in any sim or discipline.

Best for high-torque and shared MOZA rigs; less essential on low-torque bases like the R3 or R5.

Build quality

Mid-range build

MOZA lists an aluminum alloy button and housing. No dimensions, weight or independent reviews are available yet; MOZA lists up to 24 months of warranty.

Software

No software setup is required. In USB mode the switch connects to the PC and pauses force feedback through the MOZA system; in DASH and E-STOP modes it works through the base. Base settings remain in MOZA Pit House on Windows PC.

Frequently asked questions

What does the MOZA E-Stop Switch do when pressed?

It depends on how it is connected. Over USB or the base's DASH port (RJ11), it disables force feedback while pressed and restores it on release. On the base's E-STOP port (RJ9), it cuts all power to the base.

How do I recover after using the power-cut mode?

After releasing the switch in E-STOP port mode, turn the base back on with its power button. MOZA notes some games may need a restart to restore force feedback.

Which MOZA bases work with the E-Stop Switch?

MOZA describes it as working with MOZA simulators but does not list specific bases. The full power-cut mode needs a base with an E-STOP port; the force feedback pause works through USB or the DASH port.

Do I need an emergency stop on a direct drive base?

It is optional. It matters most on high-torque bases and on rigs shared with others or used near children, where cutting force feedback or power instantly adds a layer of safety.

How does it compare with the Fanatec Podium Kill Switch?

Both are aluminum emergency stops. The Fanatec unit only cuts power on older Podium DD1/DD2 bases and costs about $120; the MOZA switch adds force-feedback-only modes and costs $35 on sale.

What warranty does the E-Stop Switch have?

MOZA's store lists up to 24 months of warranty protection and a 14-day return policy.

Is the E-Stop Switch worth it?

On sale at $35 (regular $49), it is an inexpensive safety add-on for MOZA DD owners. There are no customer reviews yet.
