Thrustmaster TX Servo Base

Brushless dual-belt base with 900° rotation for Xbox and PC

Description

The Thrustmaster TX Servo Base is the base from the TX Racing Wheel, sold separately. It uses an industrial-class brushless servomotor with frictionless action and a dual-belt mechanism.

Sensor and rotation. A contactless H.E.A.R.T (Hall Effect AccuRate Technology) magnetic sensor gives 16-bit resolution (65,536 values), with rotation adjustable up to 900°.

Platforms and ecosystem. Officially licensed by Microsoft for Xbox One, it also works on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Thrustmaster Quick Release swaps add-on wheels in seconds, and the base accepts T-LCM, T3PM and T3PA pedals, TH8A/TH8S shifters and the TSS handbrake.

Mounting and size. A metal central attachment system for desks and tables plus built-in threads for cockpits. 33 × 32 × 21 cm and 4.54 kg; the included power cord is U.S. 100-125 V only.

Driving style

The TX base is an entry point into force feedback for Xbox racers. Its smooth, quiet dual-belt feel suits Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon, F1 and Assetto Corsa Competizione on Xbox, and casual PC racing in iRacing or Assetto Corsa. The 900° limit and modest strength hold it back for drifting, trucks and heavy GT cars. Best for beginners and casual Xbox players who want Thrustmaster rim compatibility on a budget; less suited for serious racers, who will get more from the TS-XW or a direct drive base.

Build quality

Entry-level build

The TX base combines a brushless servomotor and dual-belt mechanism with a contactless H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensor and a metal central attachment system (33 × 32 × 21 cm, 4.54 kg). The housing is mostly plastic and the motor package is lighter than Thrustmaster's 40 W bases, which is consistent with its entry price.

Software

On PC the TX uses the Thrustmaster Force Feedback driver package with the Thrustmaster Control Panel (rotation up to 900°, force feedback strength and effects) and a firmware updater. On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S it is plug and play with settings handled in-game. SimHub and Crew Chief run alongside on PC.

Frequently asked questions

Does the TX Servo Base work on Xbox Series X|S?

Yes. The TX is officially licensed for Xbox One and Thrustmaster states it works on Xbox Series X|S. It also works on PC; PlayStation is not supported.

Which wheels, pedals and shifters work with the TX base?

The quick release accepts Thrustmaster add-on wheels such as the Ferrari F1, 599XX EVO 30, Open Wheel, Rally Sparco R383 and Leather 28 GT. Supported accessories include T-LCM, T3PM, T3PA and T3PA-PRO pedals, TH8A and TH8S shifters and the TSS handbrake; on PC, other USB pedals and shifters also work.

How much rotation does the TX base have?

Rotation is adjustable up to 900°, less than the 1080° of the T300 and TS-XW. Flow Racers lists the 900° limit as the TX's main drawback, while praising its smooth, quiet force feedback.

TX vs TS-XW: is the upgrade worth it?

The TS-XW uses a 40 W motor and adds 1080° rotation; Inside Sim Racing estimated it is about 50% stronger than the TX. The TX costs $229.99 versus $399.99 for the TS-XW, so it suits beginners, while the TS-XW suits more serious Xbox racers.

Is the TX base a good buy for Xbox beginners?

Flow Racers recommends the TX as the Thrustmaster pick for Xbox, citing its adjustable rotation, low latency, simple quick release and quiet operation. At $229.99 it is Thrustmaster's cheapest Xbox base with access to the full rim ecosystem.
