Thrustmaster TS-XW Servo Base

40 W brushless belt-driven base for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC

Description

The Thrustmaster TS-XW Servo Base is the Xbox and PC counterpart of the TS-PC Racer. It uses a 40 W brushless servomotor with Thrustmaster's patented MCE (Motor Cooling Embedded) system, driving the wheel through a mixed dual belt-pulley system on a metal ball-bearing axle with T-LIN linearity tuning.

Sensor and power. Position is read by Thrustmaster's contactless H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensor, and the motor is fed by an external toroidal "Turbo" power supply rated at 86% efficiency.

Platforms and ecosystem. Officially compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Windows 10). It accepts all Thrustmaster detachable add-on wheels, the TH8A shifter, TSS handbrakes and the T-LCM, T3PA and T3PA-PRO pedal sets.

Size. 40 × 37.5 × 31 cm and 7.1 kg, with an attachment system included. Thrustmaster does not publish a torque figure; reviewers estimate it is about 50% stronger than the T300 and TX.

Driving style

The TS-XW is built for Xbox racers who want more strength than a TX without moving to direct drive. Its 40 W motor and dual belt drive give smooth, consistent forces in Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon, F1 and Assetto Corsa Competizione on Xbox, and in iRacing or Assetto Corsa on PC, and reviewers say it can run at 100% in the Thrustmaster profile without losing detail. Belt damping filters some fine road texture compared with direct drive. Best for Xbox and Xbox + PC drivers already using Thrustmaster rims; less suited for PlayStation users or PC-only racers who can get direct drive at a similar price.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The TS-XW houses a 40 W brushless servomotor and a dual belt-pulley system on a metal ball-bearing axle, with a metal bottom, thick plastic side panels and a fan on the I/O panel (40 × 37.5 × 31 cm, 7.1 kg). Power comes from a separate toroidal Turbo supply. Reviewers describe it as solid with no creaks, and report the belt held up without slipping over long runs.

Software

On PC the TS-XW uses the Thrustmaster Force Feedback driver package, which includes the Thrustmaster Control Panel for rotation, force feedback and effect settings and a firmware updater (Windows). On Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One it is plug and play, with settings handled in-game. SimHub and Crew Chief can run alongside on PC.

Frequently asked questions

Does the TS-XW Servo Base work on PlayStation?

No. Thrustmaster lists the TS-XW for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC only. PlayStation users should look at the T300, T-GT II or T598 bases.

Which wheels and pedals work with the TS-XW?

It works with all Thrustmaster detachable add-on wheels, the TH8A shifter, TSS handbrakes and the T-LCM, T3PA and T3PA-PRO pedal sets (all sold separately).

How much stronger is the TS-XW than a TX or T300?

Thrustmaster does not publish a torque figure. Inside Sim Racing estimated it is about 50% stronger than the T300 and TX and matches the TS-PC Racer, and found it could run at 100% strength without losing detail.

Does the TS-XW overheat or the belt slip?

The base has Thrustmaster's MCE cooling system and a fan on the I/O panel. Inside Sim Racing reported a consistent belt feel with no slipping over long runs and a solid build with no creaks.

TS-XW vs TS-PC Racer: what's the difference?

Both use the same 40 W brushless motor, dual belt drive and MCE cooling, and reviewers found them equally strong and smooth. The TS-XW adds Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One compatibility; the TS-PC Racer is PC only.

Is the TS-XW worth $399.99?

For Xbox players it is Thrustmaster's strongest belt-driven option and a clear step up from the TX. Reviewers are less enthusiastic about bundled pedals, so buying the base alone and pairing it with your own rim and pedals is a common recommendation.
