Thrustmaster T300 Servo Base

Brushless dual-belt base with 1080° rotation for PS5, PS4 and PC

Description

The Thrustmaster T300 Servo Base is the base from the popular T300 RS wheel, sold on its own. It uses a brushless servomotor (Thrustmaster quotes nearly 25 W) with a dual-belt transmission that keeps operation smooth and quiet.

Sensor and rotation. The contactless H.E.A.R.T (Hall Effect AccuRate Technology) magnetic sensor offers up to 16-bit resolution (65,536 values) without potentiometers, and the base turns up to 1080°, adjustable down to 270°.

Platforms and ecosystem. Compatible with PS5, PS4 and PC (and PS3), and recognized as a T500 RS in most games. A quick-release system swaps any Thrustmaster add-on wheel, and the base accepts the TH8A shifter, TSS handbrake and T3PA, T3PA-PRO and T-LCM pedals.

Size. 33 × 29 × 21 cm and 4.6 kg, with the power supply built in.

Driving style

The T300 base is a classic first step into force feedback for PlayStation and PC drivers. Its smooth dual-belt feel and 1080° rotation work well in Gran Turismo 7, F1, Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing and Assetto Corsa, including road cars and drifting, and reviewers say it is strong enough that FFB often needs turning down in some sims. It lacks the strength and fine detail of the TS-PC, T-GT II or direct drive bases. Best for beginners and budget PlayStation racers, or as a platform for Thrustmaster rims; less suited for drivers who want direct drive detail or Xbox support.

Build quality

Entry-level build

The T300 base combines a brushless servomotor and dual-belt transmission with a contactless H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensor in a compact housing (33 × 29 × 21 cm, 4.6 kg) with the power supply built in. Reviewers describe the construction as sturdy for its class, though the housing is largely plastic and it uses a lighter-duty motor than Thrustmaster's 40 W bases.

Software

On PC the T300 uses the Thrustmaster Force Feedback driver package with the Thrustmaster Control Panel (rotation, force feedback strength and effects) and a built-in firmware updater; the mode switch on the base must be set to the PS3/PC position. On PS5 and PS4 it is plug and play with settings handled in-game. SimHub and Crew Chief run alongside on PC.

Frequently asked questions

Does the T300 Servo Base work on Xbox?

No. The T300 base supports PS5, PS4, PS3 and PC. For Xbox, Thrustmaster's equivalents are the TX and TS-XW bases, which accept the same add-on rims.

How do I set up the T300 base on PC?

Install the latest Thrustmaster driver package, which includes the firmware updater, and set the switch on the left side of the base to the PS3 (PC) position. Most PC games recognize it as a T500 RS.

How strong is the T300 force feedback?

Thrustmaster does not publish a torque figure. Inside Sim Racing found it strong enough in iRacing, Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2 that settings had to be turned down, and warned that overdriving it causes clipping. Thrustmaster rates its 40 W TS-PC Racer at 1.6 times the T300's torque.

Does the T300 lose force feedback when it gets hot?

Some GT7 players report FFB fading on the T300 in long sessions, faster than on the T-GT II; others say running lower FFB strength or adding a fan avoids it. Reports are mixed and often tied to high in-game FFB settings.

T300 vs T-GT II for Gran Turismo 7: is the upgrade worth it?

GTPlanet users describe the T-GT II as stronger, smoother and more linear than the T300, with a subtle T-DFB transducer effect. Most call it a real but modest step up, worth it mainly for committed GT7 players.

Is the T300 base still good value?

Flow Racers ranks it first for value among Thrustmaster bases thanks to easy setup, 1080° rotation and solid force feedback. At $299.99 it now competes with entry direct drive options, so it suits buyers who already own Thrustmaster rims or want a simple PlayStation setup.
