All-metal sequential shifter with Hall sensor and adjustable damper

Description

The MOZA SGP is a sequential shifter built from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy and high-strength steel.

Driving style

The SGP is a sequential stick for rally, touring cars, drifting and older GT and prototype cars in EA SPORTS WRC, DiRT Rally 2.0, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2, RaceRoom and iRacing's touring classes. Reviewers found pulling through the gears satisfying, and the height adjustment helps place it close to the wheel. Paddles remain quicker in modern GT3 cars. Best for rally, drift and touring car fans on PC or MOZA bases wanting a solid, affordable sequential; less suited for modern GT or formula racing, or drivers who need H-pattern, where the HGP fits.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The SGP pairs an aerospace-grade aluminum lever and handle with a high-strength steel and aluminum body and a contactless Hall sensor, weighing about 1.7 kg per review. Reviewers praise its sturdy, premium feel but note loud shifts and a tension range that tops out early. MOZA's page cites both up to 24 months and a 12-month limited warranty.

Software

The SGP is configured in MOZA Pit House on Windows PC, including shift resistance, button colors and mapping. It connects via USB as its own device, so it works with any wheel brand on PC, or through a MOZA wheel base's shifter port via RJ11.

Frequently asked questions

Does the MOZA SGP work without a MOZA wheel base?

Yes on PC. It connects over USB as its own device, so it works with any wheel brand; it can also plug into a MOZA base's shifter port via RJ11.

How does the SGP feel?

Reviewers describe shifts as precise, smooth and satisfying to pull through, with tactile feedback that mimics a real car. The main complaint is noise.

Can I make the SGP shift heavier?

Yes, via the adjustable damper and Pit House resistance setting. One reviewer wanted more range, and at the highest setting the arm stuck in the upshift position.

Is the SGP loud?

Both reviews list noise during operation as a con.

Can I change the SGP knob or buttons?

The knob uses an M12 x 1.5 thread for aftermarket knobs. The two RGB handle buttons are pre-labeled (S1, S2), which one reviewer disliked, and the pinky trigger is not adjustable.

SGP vs HGP: which MOZA shifter?

The SGP ($129) is sequential only, ideal for rally and touring cars; the HGP ($149) is a 7+R H-pattern for road and historic cars. Neither does both modes.

Is the SGP good value?

Reviewers scored it 90% and 8.6/10, with value as a highlight at $129.

What warranty does the SGP have?

MOZA's page lists both up to 24 months of warranty protection and a 12-month limited warranty in its FAQ, plus a 14-day money-back guarantee. Confirm with MOZA.
