Thrustmaster T3PA Pedals โ€” Budget wide 3-pedal set with metal internals and conical rubber brake mod

Thrustmaster T3PA Pedals

Budget wide 3-pedal set with metal internals and conical rubber brake mod

Description

The Thrustmaster T3PA Add-On is a wide three-pedal set (throttle, brake, clutch) with 100% metal pedals and internal structure, a wide textured footrest and a weighted base. The pedals use potentiometer sensors.

Conical brake mod. An optional high-density rubber cone sits under the brake and adds progressive resistance at the end of travel. Brake resistance is about 10 kg without it and 15-25 kg with it, depending on position; the throttle needs about 2.5 kg and the clutch about 5 kg.

Adjustment. Pedal spacing has 3 positions, pedal angle 2 positions and throttle height 2 positions, which helps heel-and-toe.

Connection. RJ12 to a Thrustmaster wheel base; on PC without a Thrustmaster base it needs the separate T.RJ12 USB adapter. Weight 3.46 kg.

Driving style

The T3PA is a budget way to add a clutch and a firmer brake to a Thrustmaster wheel, covering manual cars, heel-and-toe, rally and drifting in Gran Turismo 7, Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corsa and F1. The conical mod gives a more progressive brake, but potentiometer sensing is less precise and reviewers call the feel not the most realistic. Best for beginners on a tight budget or small temporary setups; less suited for competitive drivers, who should look at the T-LCM or Raceline III LC.

Build quality

Entry-level build

The T3PA combines 100% metal pedals and internal structure with a plastic housing, a wide textured footrest and a weighted base (3.46 kg). GTPlanet praised the metal internals and adjustable plates, though some commenters found the pedals flexible, and the set cannot be inverted.

Software

The T3PA has no standalone software: it connects by RJ12 to a Thrustmaster wheel base, which handles calibration on PC and consoles. To use it on PC without a Thrustmaster base, Thrustmaster sells a T.RJ12 USB adapter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect the T3PA pedals?

They connect to a Thrustmaster wheel base by RJ12. To use them on a PC without a Thrustmaster base, you need the separately sold T.RJ12 USB adapter.

What does the conical rubber brake mod do?

It mounts under the brake and adds progressive resistance near the end of travel, raising brake force from about 10 kg to 15-25 kg depending on its position. GTPlanet's reviewer preferred the farthest position for a wider modulation range.

Can the T3PA pedals be inverted?

No. GTPlanet notes the T3PA cannot be mounted inverted, unlike the older T500RS pedals.

T3PA vs T3PM: which should I get?

The T3PA is the budget choice with potentiometers and a conical brake mod. The T3PM costs about $50 more and adds contactless magnetic sensors, four brake pressure modes and a heavier base. Flow Racers recommends the T3PA mainly for tight budgets.

Are the T3PA pedals good value?

At $99.99 they are Thrustmaster's cheapest 3-pedal set. GTPlanet recommends them as a clutch-and-brake upgrade for new T300 owners, while Flow Racers notes the feel is not the most realistic.
