Thrustmaster Raceline Pedals III โ€” All-metal 3-pedal set with H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors, upgradable to load cell

Thrustmaster Raceline Pedals III

All-metal 3-pedal set with H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors, upgradable to load cell

Description

The Thrustmaster Raceline Pedals III is a three-pedal set (throttle, brake, clutch) with an all-metal structure and frictionless H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors on every pedal.

Adjustment. Pressure force is set with three notches behind each pedal and several included springs, and pedal position and height are adjustable. Non-slip carpet grips are included for floor use.

Connection. The set plugs into a Thrustmaster wheel base by RJ12 cable (T598, T818 and Thrustmaster force feedback bases, except the T500) on PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC.

Upgrade path. The Raceline LC Upgrade swaps in a load cell brake and turns the set into a Raceline Pedals III LC. Dimensions are 350 ร— 370 ร— 215 mm and weight 4 kg.

Driving style

The Raceline Pedals III give Thrustmaster wheel owners a sturdy all-metal three-pedal set with a clutch for manual cars, H-pattern shifting, rally and drifting in games such as Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo 7, F1, Forza Motorsport and EA WRC. Reviewers of the Raceline design found it easy to modulate, though a travel-based brake is less repeatable than a load cell. Best for Thrustmaster owners who want a metal 3-pedal set now and a load cell later; less suited for drivers who want load cell braking from day one, who should go straight to the Raceline III LC or T-LCM.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The Raceline Pedals III use a 100% metal structure with metal pedal arms and heads, spring-based resistance and frictionless magnetic sensors (350 ร— 370 ร— 215 mm, 4 kg). The modular design means the brake can later be replaced with the Raceline load cell unit instead of replacing the whole set.

Software

The Raceline Pedals III have no standalone software: they connect through a Thrustmaster wheel base, and calibration and settings come from the base's driver and control panel on PC (My Thrustmaster Panel for T598/T818 bases) or the T598 Race Dash screen. On console they are plug and play through the base. SimHub can read the inputs on PC via the base.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Raceline Pedals III be used over USB without a wheel base?

No. Thrustmaster lists RJ12 to the wheel base as the connection for PC and consoles, and reviewers of the Raceline pedals note standalone USB is not possible. Only the LC version adds a USB-C cable.

Which wheel bases work with the Raceline Pedals III?

They work with the T598, T818 and Thrustmaster force feedback bases such as the T300, TX, T-GT II, TS-XW, TS-PC, T128 and T248 on PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC. The T500 is not supported.

How do the Raceline pedals feel compared with a load cell?

OverTake's reviewer found the Raceline Hall-sensor pedals very easy to modulate and even posted a tighter lap-time delta than with the T-LCM load cell pedals at Tsukuba, while noting this may be personal preference. A travel-based brake still relies on position rather than pressure.

Will the Raceline Pedals III fit my cockpit's pedal plate?

Reviewers note the Raceline bolt spacing (about 21.5 cm) differs from the T-LCM, and the heel rest lacks a long-screw hole, so check the pattern against your pedal deck before buying.

Raceline Pedals III or T3PM: which is better value?

Both cost $149.99 and use magnetic sensors on three pedals. The Raceline III has an all-metal structure and can be upgraded to a load cell brake, while the T3PM offers four brake pressure modes and metal pedal heads on a weighted base.
