MOZA mBooster Active Pedal — Force feedback active pedal with 270 W servo motor

MOZA mBooster Active Pedal

Force feedback active pedal with 270 W servo motor

Description

The MOZA mBooster is an active (force feedback) pedal launched in March 2025 as a lower-cost rival to Simucube's ActivePedal.

Actuator and sensing. A high-torque servo motor with ball screw drive (270 W peak) moves the pedal, while dual 200 kg load cells and an angle sensor read your input. Instead of springs and elastomers, the pedal's stiffness, travel, damping, friction and rebound are set in software.

Effects. ABS, wheel lock-up, traction control, engine vibration, gear shifts, G-force and road surface feedback in supported sims, with 15 presets and per-car profiles in MOZA Pit House.

Adjustment and build. Aluminum alloy body with a biomimetic curved face, 0-25° travel and 0-15° angle adjustment. It can be set as brake, throttle or clutch. Operating noise is rated at 44 dB.

Setup. Sold alone. It mounts to a rig or to MOZA CRP2 pedals (the Base Extension Plate is recommended), connects to the PC by USB and to CRP2 pedals via RJ11, and needs its 110-220 V to 48 V power supply. It does not require a MOZA wheel base.

Driving style

The mBooster is for enthusiasts who want the brake pedal itself to talk to them. Its ABS and lock-up effects work best in Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, Automobilista 2, RaceRoom, EA SPORTS WRC and DiRT Rally 2.0, helping drivers feel the threshold before locking a wheel. It takes time to tune per car and sim and is loud in operation. Best for dedicated PC sim racers with a rig and CRP2 pedals who want active braking without Simucube pricing; not suited for casual drivers, who are better served by a passive load cell like the CRP2 or SRP2.

Build quality

Premium build

An aluminum alloy body with a curved face houses a 270 W servo motor and ball screw drive, read by dual 200 kg load cells. A reviewer found the feel solid but less refined than Simucube's, with noticeable noise (44 dB idle) and vibration in use. It needs an external 48 V power supply. MOZA lists up to 24 months of warranty.

Software

The mBooster is driven entirely by MOZA Pit House on Windows PC: pedal mode (brake, throttle or clutch), stiffness, travel, damping, friction, rebound, effect strengths and 15 presets, with per-car and per-sim profiles. Firmware updates were described as stable. Effects depend on sim telemetry: ABS works in AC, ACC, AMS2, EA WRC, iRacing and RaceRoom; iRacing outputs ABS only, and a reviewer could not get lock-up working in rFactor 2. It connects via USB on PC and does not need a MOZA base.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need other MOZA pedals or a MOZA base to use the mBooster?

It does not need a MOZA wheel base. It is sold alone and can mount directly to a rig, but it is designed to pair with CRP2 pedals via RJ11, and the Base Extension Plate is recommended with CRP2. It needs its own power supply and USB to the PC.

Which sims support the mBooster's effects?

In testing, ABS worked in Assetto Corsa, ACC, Automobilista 2, EA SPORTS WRC, iRacing and RaceRoom, and lock-up in AC, ACC, F1 24, DiRT Rally 2.0 and EA WRC. iRacing outputs ABS only, and lock-up could not be made to work in rFactor 2.

MOZA mBooster vs Simucube ActivePedal?

A reviewer found Simucube's pedal clearer and more precise with stronger software, but at roughly double the price. The mBooster is described as a worthy value alternative rather than an equal.

Is the mBooster noisy?

MOZA rates it at 44 dB when on, and a reviewer found it gets louder and more vibratory during use.

Will the mBooster make me faster?

A reviewer says it will not suddenly gain you tenths, but when tuned well it can improve immersion and braking consistency. The brake feels solid even with haptics turned off.

Is the mBooster worth it?

At $759 on sale it is far cheaper than Simucube's active pedals, but a reviewer says it is not for casual sim racers because of the tuning time involved. The bundle with a CRP2 throttle is $949.

What warranty does the mBooster have?

MOZA's US store lists up to 24 months of warranty protection and a 14-day returns policy.
