Fanatec CSL Cockpit Seat Sliders

Steel seat sliders with dual locking and 135 mm of quick fore-aft adjustment

Description

The Fanatec CSL Cockpit Seat Sliders add quick fore-aft seat adjustment to the CSL Cockpit, useful when the rig is shared by drivers of different sizes or when you swap between wheels of different lengths.

Design. Steel sliders with a locking mechanism on both the left and right sides for stiffness and safety, operated by a single pull handle.

Range. 135 mm of adjustment.

Installation. They fit to the cockpit's seat mounting brackets using the tools that come with the CSL Cockpit; four metal spacers are included.

Compatibility. Durability-tested with the CSL Cockpit and CSL Cockpit Seat. Fanatec notes they are a conventional slider design and should work with many other cockpits and seats, but this is not tested or endorsed.

Driving style

The CSL Cockpit Seat Sliders suit CSL Cockpit rigs shared by family members or friends of different heights, and drivers who switch between a small formula wheel and a larger GT or rally rim and want to move the seat rather than the wheel base. OC Racing's CSL Cockpit review listed the lack of a seat slider, wrench-based adjustment and very limited seat travel as drawbacks of the stock rig, which is exactly what this accessory addresses.

Best for shared CSL Cockpits and drivers who change wheels often; less suited for single-driver rigs that are set once and left alone.

Build quality

Mid-range build

Conventional steel seat sliders with locking on both sides and a single pull handle, plus four metal spacers. Fanatec says they are durability-tested with the CSL Cockpit and CSL Cockpit Seat.

Software

The CSL Cockpit Seat Sliders are a mechanical accessory and need no software.

Fanatec provides a manual, a Quick Start Guide and a video guide for installation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need seat sliders on the CSL Cockpit?

Not strictly, but the stock CSL Cockpit adjusts the seat with wrenches and has limited travel; OC Racing listed the lack of a slider as a drawback. The sliders add 135 mm of quick adjustment, which helps most on rigs shared by several drivers.

Do the CSL Cockpit Seat Sliders fit other seats or cockpits?

Fanatec only durability-tests them with the CSL Cockpit and CSL Cockpit Seat. Because they are a conventional slider design, Fanatec says they should work with many other cockpits and seats, but this is not tested or endorsed; check your seat maker's documentation.

How hard are they to install?

They attach to the cockpit's seat mounting brackets much like the seat itself, using the tools included with the CSL Cockpit. Fanatec describes the process as straightforward and provides a Quick Start Guide and video guide.

Will the seat feel loose on sliders?

Fanatec uses a locking mechanism on both the left and right sides for stiffness and safety, which addresses the main weakness of single-lock sliders.

What do the CSL Cockpit Seat Sliders cost?

Fanatec lists them at $89.99 in the US and €59.95 in the EU. Traxion reported a $/€29.95 pre-order price when they were announced in November 2024.

Do seat sliders need any software?

No. They are purely mechanical.
