Elgato Stream Deck +

8 LCD keys, 4 push dials and a touch strip, with the official Fanatec plugin for telemetry and Tuning Menu control

Description

The Stream Deck + is a desktop controller made by Elgato and sold by Fanatec as a sim racing add-on. It combines 8 customizable LCD keys, 4 rotary dials with push function and a 108 x 14 mm LCD touch strip.

Fanatec plugin. The free, official Fanatec plugin on the Elgato Marketplace (launched January 2026) turns it into a racing dashboard and tuning console: it shows game-dependent telemetry such as race position, fuel level, tire temperatures, flag signals and pit limiter warnings, and gives direct access to the Fanatec Tuning Menu so you can adjust force feedback strength, FullForce, the Natural Damper and other settings with the dials during a session. Keys can also launch your sim or the Fanatec App.

Hardware. 140 x 138 x 110 mm, 465 g, with an integrated stand and a 1.5 m USB-C to USB-C cable. It needs the free Stream Deck software on Windows 11 or macOS 13 or newer.

Warranty. Fanatec notes that the Stream Deck + is covered by Elgato's limited 2-year warranty, not the standard Fanatec warranty.

Driving style

The Stream Deck + suits PC sim racers on a Fanatec base who like to tune force feedback during a session: the dials map directly to Fanatec Tuning Menu settings such as FFB strength, FullForce and the Natural Damper, and the LCD keys and touch strip can show fuel, tire temperatures, position and flags in supported titles. It fits GT, endurance and practice sessions in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and Le Mans Ultimate, and doubles as a streaming or desktop controller.

Best for Fanatec owners on PC who want a desk- or shelf-mounted control panel for tuning and telemetry; less suited for console players, or drivers who want hard-wearing physical toggles mounted next to the wheel, where a dedicated sim racing button box works better.

Build quality

Mid-range build

The Stream Deck + has an integrated stand, 8 LCD keys, 4 metal stepped rotary dials and an LCD touch strip, and weighs 465 g. GamesRadar praised the grippy, well-spaced dial steps and sharp key screens, but criticized the fixed stand and the lack of dial backlighting.

Software

The Stream Deck + needs Elgato's free Stream Deck software on Windows 11 or macOS 13 or newer, where keys, dials and touch strip are set up by drag and drop. The official Fanatec plugin, free on the Elgato Marketplace, adds race telemetry and Fanatec Tuning Menu control, with a dedicated Stream Deck + profile.

Fanatec hardware itself is still configured with the Windows-only Fanatec App. There is no console support, since the Stream Deck connects to a computer, not to the wheel base.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Fanatec plugin for Stream Deck + do?

The free, official plugin on the Elgato Marketplace shows race telemetry such as position, fuel level, tire temperatures and flag warnings (depending on the game), and gives access to the Fanatec Tuning Menu so buttons and dials can change hardware settings without pausing. It works with all Stream Deck models and has a dedicated Stream Deck + profile.

Which Fanatec settings can I adjust with the dials?

Fanatec shows the dials controlling Tuning Menu settings such as force feedback strength, FullForce intensity and the Natural Damper. You can assign one setting per dial or push a dial to cycle through all Tuning Menu settings.

Does the Stream Deck + work on PlayStation or Xbox?

No. It connects over USB-C to a computer and requires Elgato's Stream Deck software on Windows 11 or macOS 13 or newer. The Fanatec plugin runs on that computer, so it is a PC sim racing accessory.

Can I mount the Stream Deck + on my sim rig?

It has a fixed, integrated stand and ships with no rig mount, so out of the box it sits on a desk or shelf. GamesRadar criticized the fixed stand for limiting positioning compared with the removable stand on earlier Stream Decks.

Who handles the warranty if I buy it from Fanatec?

Fanatec states that the Stream Deck + is manufactured by Elgato and covered by Elgato's limited 2-year warranty; the standard Fanatec warranty does not apply.

Is the Stream Deck + worth it for sim racing?

It costs $179.99 on Fanatec US, below Elgato's $199.99 launch price. Reviewers praise the dials and touch strip but call the price steep and note that cheaper button-only Stream Decks also work with the Fanatec plugin. It makes most sense if you also use it for streaming or other apps.

Stream Deck + or a traditional sim racing button box?

The Stream Deck + offers LCD keys that show telemetry and dials that control Fanatec settings, but it is a desktop device with no backlit dials. A traditional button box gives physical toggles and switches designed to mount on a rig and work with any game input.
